Every Client Has A Problem. Do You Know What It Is?
Advantage Curiosity Champions
by Dina Ferris, Zack Steck and Kathi Prior
Advantage Curiosity Champions was created to start asking questions: why are we doing things a certain way and is there a better way? How can we work towards the One Acadia mindset? How can we help both our internal and external clients better? We think of ourselves as a Mini-Spark! by taking in ideas from other team members and triaging how we can best address every idea. We started by setting a quarterly focus for all 4 quarters in 2024 and adding in smaller side projects where we can. We’ve also led some team building work within Advantage to focus on things like pro table growth and servicing clients better. Our goal is simple: what changes can be made to help us be a more successful small business team for each other and our agents!

Innovation Behaviors
As part of our Innovation journey, we continue to work on the seven innovation behaviors to strengthen our knowledge and skill sets. We will highlight an innovation behavior each newsletter and provide links and information on where you can learn more about this behavior
The third behavior we will highlight is re ective listening. One of the most important ways we learn from one another is by simply listening - not just hearing, but listening. Opening our minds to listening is a natural outgrowth of managing our emotions. It is what will clear us of preconceived notions and habitual thinking and allow us to take in without bias what a speaker is saying - to listen to learn, not con rm. This behavior is called "re ective" listening because that is exactly what we should all aspire to do - to think, to re ect, and to absorb before responding. There are physical behaviors that will especially help with Re ective Listening - by managing our body language, making eye contact, by not multi-tasking or interrupting, we are signaling to the speaker that we are actively listening and engaged with them and their content.
As a reminder, you can use the Give A WOW platform to recognize your coworkers that have you've noticed exhibiting innovation behaviors. The innovation behaviors are the last seven options under the Nomination Category.
