why peanut butter + jelly ?


honestly, in the 7th grade I was assigned an essay that was meant to outline what was, in our opinion, the best meal on earth‌ and 7 years later, I stand by my choice.

instructions Tie your cow in a secure area so she can not escape while you are milking her. Visually inspect your cow’s udder for signs of injury, swelling or discomfort that might indicate your cow is experiencing a health problem such as mastitis, which occurs when teats become blocked.

Ingredients

Wrap your thumb and forefinger into a circle around the base of one of the cow’s teats. Gently and quickly squeeze the teat to release a small squirt of milk. Milk should appear white and smooth, as opposed to clumpy, when you express it from the teat. Do this for every teat. 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast 2-1/4 cups warm water (110° to 115°) 3 tablespoons sugar 1 tablespoon salt 2 tablespoons canola oil 6-1/4 to 6-3/4 cups all-purpos

instructions In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, salt, oil and 3 cups flour and beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 8-10 minutes.

Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide dough in half. Shape each into a loaf. Place in two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30-45 minutes. Bake at 375° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bread sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool. Yield: 2 loaves (16 slices each).

instructions Place the peanuts, salt and honey into the bowl of a food processor. Process for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.

For 1/2 to 2 minutes, place the lid back on and continue to process while slowly drizzling in the oil and process until the mixture is smooth . Place the peanut butter in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to *2 months.

3 1/2 pounds of Concorde grapes 1/2 cup of water 7 cups of white sugar 6 fluid oz of liquid pectin

instructions Sort and wash grapes, and remove stems. Place them into a large kettle and crush them. Add water, cover, and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, and extract juice. Allow the juice to stand in a cool place overnight to prevent the formation of crystals in the jelly.

Strain the juice through a double thickness of damp cheesecloth. Measure 4 cups of the juice into a large pot. Stir in the sugar. Quickly bring to a full rolling boil. Stir in pectin, and allow to boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat, and skim off foam. Pour into hot sterile jars, and process for 5 minutes in a boiling water bath. Place in refrigerator to chill.

instructions Place two slices of bread on a clean and flat surface facing right-side up. With a butter knife, on the first slice of bread, place as much peanut but as desired

*Scrape any remaining peanut butter back into peanut butter container With a cleaned butter knife, spread jelly onto the remaining slice of bread. Carefully lift the jellied slice of bread and place on top of the peanut buttered-slice of bread.

In a small pot, heat milk until it gets to a nice simmer. Just before boiling, cut off the heat and add lavender buds.

w/ lavender milk. instructions Let steep for 15 minutes. Place a sieve over a medium sized bowl. Pour the milk and lavender mixture through the sieve to remove the lavender buds. Press the strained buds to get all of that lavender goodness into your milk. Pour the milk back into your pot, heat until simmering once more. Add honey and stir. Pour into a mason jar, and enjoy immediately alongside your preprepared sandwich. * ( Or, let milk cool, and cap it off to drink cold over ice later )

Lay the pieces of bread flat on a work surface. Spread two pieces of bread with jelly and then spread the remaining two with peanut butter. Sandwich the jelly side with the peanut butter side. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs with a couple splashes of cream or milk. Whisk in a pinch of salt.

Place a skillet over medium heat and add the butter to melt. Once hot, dip both sides of each sandwich in the egg mixture, making sure the eggs are soaking into the bread. Place the sandwich in the hot skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 4 minutes per side. While waiting for both sides to toast remove the dried rose petals from stem and place onto a clean serving plate. Remove sandwich from frying pan onto a serving plate and place on top of dried roses ( dust with powdered sugar and remaining petals if desired. ) Pour your Rosé of choice into a chilled glass and serve alongside the plated dish Serve dish while hot.
