We have two youth gatherings that happen every week for highschool students: one at our Port Coquitlam campus, the other one at our Warehouse Campus! ERDO – EMERGENCY RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT OVERSEAS ERDO is The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) humanitarian arm. In November, MoneySense magazine rated ERDO the number one 2019 Canadian Charity in the International sector. That’s something to celebrate! Broadway partners with ERDO by sending them a monthly donation (part of our Global Outreach budget). Also, several of our Global Outreach workers have projects with ERDO, such as Steve Bowler’s Fountain of Life ministry to victims of sexual abuse in Malawi, Kathy Bowler’s Children of Blessing Trust in Malawi that works with kids with disabilities, and Nancy & Sergio Bersaglio’s work with the ChildCARE Plus sponsorship program in Africa. ERDO is also there on the ground after natural disasters such as earthquakes, and also for refugee and food crises around the world. Our Kids Ministry has raised money for ERDO’s “Cookies for Kids”program, to feed children in Bangladesh. Many of these children go to school without having breakfast. Each cookie contains the essential nutrients that fuels the body and mind, that will give kids the energy to play, learn and grow! ERDO is a founding member of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank – a Christian response to hunger. Donations to this work come in different forms from typical financial contributions to ways that are not so typical. Through the hard work and generous donations of Canadian farmers, the sale of grains and livestock here in Canada help to provide food aid to countries in need. The Canadian Foodgrains Bank receives matching donations from the Canadian Government (Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada - DFATD, formerly CIDA). For specific programs, ERDO can access matched funds up to 4:1, making your food relief donations reach so many more families in need. For more information, check out ERDO’s website at erdo.ca.
