Coaching Staff Danielle Novara DIRECTOR DISTANCE Danielle joins the Brockport Track and Field program from Colgate University as the primary women’s cross country coach. Previously Novara enjoyed great success as an assistant with the Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Oberlin College in Ohio. Under Novara’s tutelage, the women’s cross country team had its two best performances in school history as the Yeowomen placed ninth in NCAAs during the 2012 and eighth during the 2013 season. During her three years at Oberlin, a total of 18 student-athletes from the cross country teams were chosen as USTFCCCA Academic All-Americans. She also saw three All-Americans, 12 Individual National Qualifiers (first two distance men in school history), and the most women from one school in the 10,000 meter national race in 2014. There were also eight Individual NCAC Conference Champions, two team NCAC Titles in Cross Country and seven new school records from 2012-2014.. She also brings the experience of having worked and trained amongst many prestigious coaches, athletes, and Olympians in Flagstaff, AZ; Oberlin Nike Camp, and Stanford Nike Camp. Novara, a SUNYAC Hall of Fame inductee from her time as a studentathlete at Geneseo, earned a Master of Arts degree in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University.


Ed Jaskulski ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING; THROWING Ed has been with Brockport athletics in a coaching capacity since 2003. During his coaching tenure, Jaskulski has coached 35 NCAA participants, 21 All-Americans, 51 SUNYAC champions, 3 ECAC champions one National Champion. Jaskulski was honored by the USTFCCCA as the NCAA’s Atlantic Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year during 2011 and 2010. As an undergraduate, Jaskulski was a captain for the Golden Eagle football team, as well as a shot put and discus thrower for the track and field teams. He formerly held the program’s power lifting record (1,735 lbs.) as well. Jaskulski holds a B.S. in Physical Education and a M.S. in Physical Education/Pedagogy from The College at Brockport.


Coaching Staff Justin Mc Quality PRIMARY COACH

SPRINTS, JUMPS, MULTI-EVENTS Justin comes to Brockport after two successful stints at Illinois College and SUNYAC rival, Fredonia. He has coached athletes to 4 USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, 5 NCAA DIII All-American honors, 18 Individual or Relay Conference Championship performances, 19 NCAA National Qualifying performances, and over 30 school record breaking performances. Justin himself, a former All-American, earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania and is certified by the US Track and Field Academy in areas of Speed and Explosion as well as Strength and Conditioning.

Andy Fetzner ASSISTANT COACH POLE VAULTING Andy is in his 11th year as the Golden Eagles’ pole vaulting coach after competing for Brockport during his collegiate years. By utilizing his own wealth of knowledge and experience, along with Brockport’s unique pole vaulting facilities, Fetzner has produced: 3 State Champions, 12 SUNYAC individual champions, 2 SUNYAC title championships, Brockport holds both the men’s and women’s SUNYAC meet and conference records for indoor & outdoor, 4 All Americans including a NCAA runner up and a NCAA Champion in 2013.


Seth Yernye ASSISTANT COACH DISTANCE Seth Yernye enters his first season as the Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Coach here at The College at Brockport. Prior to joining the staff at Brockport, Yernye coached in multiple roles during his 3 years at Daemen College. Starting out as the Assistant Cross Country/Track and field coach and primarily working with the middle distant athletes and then being promoted to the Head Coach in 2014. During his time at Daemen College, he coached 64 All-Conference athletes, 10 Conference Champions, 7 USCAA All-Americans, as well as the 2013 USCAA Women’s Cross Country National Championship team. Before his time at Daemen College, Seth served as the Head Track and Field Coach at Bishop Timon St. Jude High School in Buffalo, NY. During his 2 years, he saw 6 athletes earn All-Conference Honors.


House of Fields The indoor track facility at Brockport is located in the House of Fields in the SERC. This 60,000-sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility offers one of the most dynamic indoor training areas in the country. The track itself was designed with a wide-turn, short straight away approach for increased speeds throughout the 8-lane, 200m track. The Mondo surface in the House of Fields provides a reactive feel for both runners and jumpers alike. The House of Fields also offers two 20’ sand pits to allow more repetitions for Brockport athletes during practice time. Throws practice is made simple and accessible with designated shot put and discus areas complete with a safety cage.


Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium Brockport’s football team plays on Bob Boozer Field at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium. With seating for 10,000 fans, it is the 3rd largest on-campus Division III football stadium in the country. It features a new A-Turf playing field, a high-tech scoreboard with message center display capabilities, a newly installed speaker system, bleacher seating along both sidelines and a state-of-the art press box.



NCAA Division III Athletics In 2015, Brockport Cross Country Track and Field had 19 SUNYAC champions, 3 ECAC Champions, and 11 NCAA National Participants. The Golden Eagles also added 7 All-American certificates to the 57 program tally. The Men’s Outdoor Track and Field team also were crowned the 2015 SUNYAC champions and 2015 ECAC champions. It is our goal to not only secure Brockport Cross Country, Track and Field as a perennial three-season SUNYAC powerhouse, but a National Standout team as well. With our endless resources such as access to team-specific athletic trainers, sports-performance psychologists, individualized strength and conditioning programs, and knowledgeable coaches, success is inevitable.


Athletic Training Room Six full-time staff members with Athletic Training Certifications offer 90 combined years of experience in athletic training. The team provides comprehensive care to our student-athletes through the use of the latest technology in therapeutic modalities as well as innovative functional assessment and rehabilitation techniques. Our Athletic Training Room provides student-athletes the benefit of high quality rehabilitation and physical training equipment. The facility has five taping tables, 13 treatment tables, three exercise bikes, one elliptical machine, one stair climber as well as a whirlpool machine.



Bill Steele Athletic Performance Weight Room It’s not a fitness center. It’s an athletic performance training facility, where Golden Eagle athletes prepare for their competitors through a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning program. Athletes will be able to push their bodies to maximize their athletic talents using the College’s high-speed treadmills, TRX trainers, kettlebells, inlaid Olympic platforms, free-motion functional trainers, VertiMax platforms, Elitefts Colligate power racks, speed and power sleds, an Ariel Computerized Exercise System (ACES) machine, and much more. All of our athletes train under the watch of experienced instructors.




the SERC Opened in 2012, the Special Events Recreation Center, a state-of-the-art facility, is a 138,000 square foot three-story building that serves as the home for Campus Recreation and the Golden Eagle Track and Field Program. In addition to serving as a venue for major campus events, the SERC—which consists of a dynamic fitness center and the impressive Field House—equips students with all the tools necessary to stay physically fit. Whether you’re interested in weight lifting, cardio, taking a Zumba class, working with a personal trainer or going for a run on the track, the SERC can help you reach all your fitness goals.



Residence Halls Living on campus at Brockport means more than just a place to sleep. The college residential experience serves as the foundation for developing friendships that last a lifetime. Our vibrant and safe living-learning environment helps students become successful members of our campus community. A resident director (RD) and a staff resident assistant (RA) provide leadership for each residence hall community. RDs and RAs are excellent sources of information and will help students make decisions, support students in developing responsibility and concern for others, and assist in acquiring a plan for academic success.


Dining Halls Students have many options when it comes to dining and meal plans. The College’s dining services are regularly ranked high within the SUNY system. Meal plans are designed to provide variety, flexibility and plenty of healthy dining options. Our diversified menus include vegan, vegetarian, and ethnic entrees, allowing students to enjoy their favorite foods and expand their palates. The two main dining halls, Brockway and Harrison, feature a wide selection of food stations and made-to-order choices. In addition to the two main dining halls, there are a number of cafÊs, late-night spots, and retail locations that offer a variety of meal options throughout the day.


Drake Memorial Library Drake Memorial Library houses nearly a half million items, plus online databases, research guides, the College Archives and more. It includes multiple computer labs and meeting/study rooms, enhancing the learning experience with audio, video, graphic, and web-based content. The library provides opportunities for 3D printing/scanning in the Makerspace and has a variety of tech tools available for loan. Librarians offer in-person as well as online research assistance and consultation. And, if you need a little caffeine for your study session, the Aerie CafĂŠ provides coffee and a varying menu to satisfy your cravings.
