Coaching Staff Stephen Wagner

HEAD WOMEN’S LACROSSE COACH Stephen Wagner joined The College at Brockport coaching staff in 2012 and has quickly established the Golden Eagles into national competitors. Most recently Wagner was named the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association Division III Empire Region Coach of the Year after leading the team to an unprecedented season in school history. Wagner was a former defensive coordinator for the Brockport women’s team in its inaugural season in 2001. Wagner helped lead the Golden Eagles to a 10-5 record and a trip to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament semifinals. The Brockport defense was ranked 19th nationally in goals allowed that season. Following one year at Brockport, Wagner accepted a position as the top assistant at St. Bonaventure University. In the program’s third season of play, Wagner helped the Bonnies reach seven wins, a school a record for victories in a season at the time. After the 2002 season, Wagner became the head women’s coach at NCAA Division II Gannon University. In his first six seasons at the helm, Wagner posted a record of 61-30 and never had a losing season and the team was nationally ranked every season. Wagner’s success led him to an assistant coaching position at Division I University of Connecticut. Following one season for the Huskies, Wagner returned to Gannon to post a 2412-1 record over the next two seasons before rejoining the Brockport staff.
