DEGREE TYPES At Brock University, a combination of dedicated researchers, award-winning Faculty and outstanding facilities provide an enriched environment for the pursuit of your graduate degree. The transdisciplinary nature of our graduate programs allows for outstanding collaborations between graduate students and Faculty.

Research Degree A research degree from Brock will help you advance your knowledge in a specific field or topic. You will work closely with your supervisor as you learn to discover, disseminate and apply your newfound knowledge. Those studying a research degree at the Master’s level will learn the necessary research methodologies to succeed in a PhD program. Improving quality of life through leading-edge research for Canadians, and people around the world, is what we’re all about. Students in a full-time, research-based program will receive a funding package.

Professional/Course-Based Degree

There is something for everyone at Brock. We offer an array of specializations, co-op opportunities and study options such as research-based, course-based and professional programs.

QUOTE-LEFT " The MBE program is incredibly challenging, but it prepared me very well for what life is like in a fast-paced environment like the NHL. The critical thinking skills, data mining techniques and communication skills I developed in the MBE program have all served me very well working in my career."

In a professional program, you will study topics in a variety of areas that will advance your knowledge in relation to your desired career path. While you won’t need to complete a thesis, there still is an academic writing component to course-based Master’s programs. Many of our professional programs have mandatory practicum components, where you will gain experience in your desired industry. As well, these degrees are often the first step towards a professional designation. This degree will prepare you for the next step in your career.

Diploma Programs A graduate diploma is designed to develop and integrate the broad-based, functional and practical knowledge needed for career advancement.

Brad Rossen Master of Business Economics, 2016 Director of Statistical Analysis for NHL's Arizona Coyotes
