Science Having a full and in depth understanding of why the substrate has deteriorated has enabled us to clean, restore and provide long term protection of all substrates used in the construction of modern buildings. Below shows an example of how this is achieved on both anodised and powder coated aluminium finishes. Although both substrates are aluminium the treatments are vastly different. The most common mistake being made when treating aluminium is not identifying the correct finish as colour and finishes of both look very similar when deterioration has occurred. Our surveyors are trained to carry out tests onsite to determine the exact finish and substrate metals before enabling them employing the exact system
for correction. Most companies in the building cleaning field simply use the same system for all finishes resulting in long term damage and accelerated deterioration as soon as weeks after they have finished. Our records show a huge increase year on year of works that we are undertaking as a direct result of wrong cleaning methods being employed by others as well as sacrificial waxes and silicon’s having been applied by others previous. In some cases as soon as 6 weeks after work has been completed but most commonly 12 months (One summer) after as these type products have been applied. Sacrificial coatings (Waxes, Silicon and Nano products) Our records show a huge increase year on year of works that we are undertaking as a direct result of incorrect cleaning methods as well as sacrificial waxes and silicon’s having been applied by others previously. In some cases these fail dramatically as soon as 6 weeks after work has been completed but most commonly 12 months (One summer) after these type products have been applied. We have had to develop new systems to cope with this high demand as the products applied cross link after baking has occurred from the heat of the sun. Once these product have cross linked it seems impossible to remove them as they have turned into a fine powder which in the case of anodized finished hardens within the pores of the surface. We are also aware that to overcome the problem these companies simply apply more of the same or similar products over the top of the cross linked
first application. This result is swirls and patches soon after application as well as causing further damage to the substrate. It is essential that these coating are NOT used as they are NOT fit for the purpose and should be removed as soon as possible, the longer they are left on the more unsightly they become and much harder to remove. As far as we are aware we are the only company in the world who have developed a system to remove such coating, sadly in some cases after multiple applications of these products we are not able to completely restore large panels back to our usual high unblemished standard, however the results are only marred by visual appearance but are; • 95% better than the previous appearance, • 100% protected and carry our normal guarantee.

History BROMOCO Systems was the brain child of our founder Tony Semple who in 2006 had a vision to extend the life, increase the value as well as enhance the beauty of exterior of surface modern architectural buildings and structures. As a pioneer in this field he recognised that modern buildings were degrading and becoming unsightly although structurally still very sound. Up until this point building cleaning companies were being established to simply clean down the surfaces. Most building cleaning companies have been born from window cleaners as it made logical sense as window cleaners were already accessing the building height they should also clean the fabric of the building. However as window cleaner they were expert in cleaning glass but had no understanding of the substrate of the building fabric. They mostly use incorrect products and methods such as harsh alkaline cleaners, automotive cleaners and abrasives as well as applying sacrificial waxes and silicon’s, which are simply not designed for a building surface. (Many of these companies are happy to show videos on their websites showing their operative’s rubbing down with scouring pads as they believe this is a correct method).The result of this causes further damage and accelerates the aging process and in some cases the damage is irreversible. Mr Semple set out to gather all the information regarding the materials used in the construction of modern buildings including anodised and powder coated aluminium, painted steel, plastic coated steels, stainless steel and glass reinforced plastics giving him a full understanding of the substrates used in the construction of modern buildings. Over the ensuing years with the help and advice of leading chemists and metallurgist’s we have designed and developed, our own products and systems that not only sympathetically restore the existing substrate back to its original colour and lustre but also provide long term protection that outlasts the original surface finish. We have been developing these products and systems continually since 2006 and constantly updating and improving the products and systems used.
