MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TIME AT TECH Meridian Technology Center accepts high school juniors and seniors for morning and afternoon programs. Sophomores may attend in the afternoon, if space is available. Most programs take two years to complete. Meridian’s STEM academy includes a Pre-Engineering and a Biomedical Sciences pathway. They are both college prep programs that are open to students beginning their sophomore year and students may attend for three years. The Pharmacy Tech program is just one year, and students must be a senior in high school or an adult to enroll. High school students split their day between their home high school and Meridian. Really, it’s the best of both worlds. When you come to Tech you add to your high school experience by getting a jump-start on your career. Career training at Meridian combines theory and experience in programs taught by professionals who are experts in their field. You can be certain that upon the completion of your training at Tech, you’ll have a competitive advantage in college or your career.

HOW IT WORKS Depending on their high school, students may earn 3 or 4 credits per year. Some of these credits count as electives, some count as academic credits. Your Meridian coursework may connect to an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) at participating in-state colleges. Once you complete 15 credit hours at an institution, you can provide your transcript and/or certifications from Tech to be reviewed for possible college credit. College credit hours vary by college and programs at Tech. An A.A.S. degree is a great path to follow for someone who is planning on directly entering the workforce after earning the degree. There is no cost for district high school students to attend. To learn more about Meridian’s programs, related expenses and job placement rate, visit meridiantech.edu/programs.
