HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE PROVIDES CLEARER GUIDELINES IN THE LANDLORD/TENANT CODE
In anticipation of the most recent struggles our community is facing, the 2021 Session of the Hawaii State Legislature passed Act 57 (HB1376) which seeks to provide clear guidelines on how best to resolve any landlord/tenant issues regarding delinquent rent accrued over the pandemic as well as appropriate mediations and eviction processes if applicable. A summary of the guidelines are provided below.
