online dating or social media without being mindful of the risks involved. There are many online dating sites available for seniors. Experts recommend that before visiting these sites, it’s best that you are in a comfortable, confident place in your life. If you have experienced a recent loss, take time first to heal, and join when you are ready to meet a new partner. Other advice:
Select dating sites geared toward people over 50.
Trust your instincts. If something seems off, slow down or back off until you find out more.
Ask for help from a family member
when writing your dating profile.
Do your research. Google a person’s name and their image. This will give you some idea as to whether what they are telling you is truthful. Googling their image will show you if the picture is a stock photo, or whether the names match.
Never give away your personal financial information.
If you are meeting for the first time, do so in a public place. Once again, trust your instincts!
