Meet a team member Ana Marcus What is your position at Bryan Ashley and what is your tenure? Director of Project Development. I have been a proud team member for almost 10 years. How do you prefer to start your day? Enjoying the ocean breeze, blue skies, and the nature around me while sipping on my morning coffee. What’s one hobby you’d love to get into? I would probably love to start painting again. Painting brings me peace and helps me express myself beyond words. I really enjoy bringing different colors and shapes together that ultimately tell a story.

Haylee Ryan Haylee Ryan Art Haylee Ryan is a 34-year-old artist, musician, one half of the Dear Friend, Podcast., and former art teacher from Dallas, TX. As a fine art painter and muralist, Ryan’s work invokes nostalgia and wrestles with the concept of memory and beauty across the figure. Through a balance of negative space, abstraction, and realistic care, her work attempts to visually portray how we remember people, places, and moments. She believes that “beauty is in the memory of the beholder,” and we have the power to make beautiful memories and keep them alive. Haylee has wanted to be an artist since she was a little

“A Woman’s Warm Back”

Haylee says the pandemic has been an “interesting” time as an artist, as it has been for everyone. It came with a lot of struggle, but was paired with a fresh perspective and more aligned motivation. During the past year, Haylee has produced some of her proudest work, recently being accepted into New Texas Talent at Craighead Green and also giving her first TedTalk in November of 2020, talking on beauty and memory through visual art. Haylee is also headed to Spain for two short art residencies to continue learning from

Glazed whole baby carrots Ingredients • 1½ lbs whole baby carrots, scrubbed but not peeled, tops trimmed
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 2 tablespoons melted butter
• Dash of nutmeg
• Salt & white pepper to taste
Directions 1. Preheat oven to 375°. 2. Place carrots on a sheet pan lined with foil. Drizzle with the melted butter and honey, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. 3. Bake at 375° for 30-45 minutes, depending on the thickness of the carrots. Flip occasionally until the carrots are tender, caramelized, and coated with a sweet glaze.
