SIR CONAN DOYLE MYSTERY THEATRE
Sir Conan Doyle Mystery Theatre is dedication to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the authur of Sherlock Holmes detective stories. Located at the junction of Spencer Street and Bourke Street, the theatre challenges the conventional Theatre typologies with the stage opens to both the public and the paid audience. Its simplistic form and ornamental facade reflects the site location between a heritage listed area and the contemporary designed Southern Cross Station. The concept of “double skin creates a dialogue between its external form and the internal volume of the Theatre functions. In addition to the light and shadow effects, the concept provide a sense of mystery and illusion to visitors. Programs are connected by a single ramp between the building skin and internal volume. The ambience and elegance of the architecture transcends the building into a piece of public art work and place making qualities to the western side of Melbourne CBD. The theatre will be an iconic festival place suitable for both day and night time activities. 7

CITY OF WYNDHAM GATEWAY
The City of Wyndham Gateway project explores the impact of computation on architectural design. The design was aimed for a place making quality which helps the development of a community identity for the City of Wyndham. The theme of duality is used to sparkle longevity with the juxtapositions of defining new boundary of Wyndham, creating a cohesive cultural form symbolized the unity of the community, and to create a phenomenon of mutual and unique experience. The aspiration is to design a self-defining structure, which creates communal identity, through a non-discriminative design process. The design was chosen as one of the best works of Studio AIR and was invited by the faculty to design a pavilion based on the same design algorithm. (Refer to later projects)

CARA(S)PACE
Cara(s)pace was a commissioned bar and installation for MSDx, the annual exhibition by the Melbourne School of Design. The design emerged from research into digital detailing and fabrication techniques of composite panels and employs an experimental structural system of flexible sheet metal that is actively bent and restrained by the panels. Like exoskeletal systems found in nature, this reciprocal structural system acts as surface and performative ornament and is informed by the heterogeneous localised conditions across the surface geometry, varying in density and depth. The brief called for two separate bar units to cater for future events of various size and an additional element was added to separate serving space and storage as well as create a wayfinding device amongst the campus for the event. The three design elements work individually or are locked together, the accuracy of geometry and fabrication allowing for seamless continuity with incredibly tight tolerances. The design uses 14 1200Ă—1200 sheets of lasercut 1mm steel sheet and 8 1200Ă—2400 aluminium composite panels, utilising CNC router engraving for sheet forming and profile cuts for connection details and panel cutout. 31

BODYSPACE
BODYSPACE is a 1st year studio project that explores elementary computation design in building complex forms (i.e Lantern) out of paper, which can be worn on the body. The concept of based of stalactites its layering process. The layering allows lights to penetrates through which illuminates the lantern in a unique fashion. An ivory card rib structure was developed to support the panels strip which are made of cartridge paper. The design was selected as one of best works of Virtual Environments Semester 1 2011.

STUDLEY PARK BOATHOUSE
Studley Park Boat House project redesigns existing disrepair boathouse in the manner of a great architecture master. In this case, the works of Australian architect Glenn Murcutt was studied for this project. The boathouse consists of Restaurants, Cafes, Kiosk, open space and boat storage space. The connection to the wharf creates a new gathering space in front of the river.

ABORIGINAL ARTS AND CULTURE CENTRE
Studio EARTH, Semester 1 2012
53
The Aboriginal Arts and Culture Centre situates on Herring Island Victoria. It explores the tension between prospect and refuge, between the settler and the aboriginal people of Australia. The theme of duality on the building form symbolizes the unity and difference between the settlers and the Aboriginals. Semi-underground exhibition space conceives the dark ages of aboriginal people. Water is the key concept of the design considering the importance of Yarra River to the Wurundjeri people (Aboriginal tribe settled around Melbourne). The undulating roof for is an abstraction of the water symbol of the aboriginal people whereas the amphitheater emphasized the yarra river as the background.
