Bryant’s Physician Assistant Program, First in RI to Earn Full Accreditation The Master of Science in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies program at Bryant University has received full accreditation by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA). Bryant’s program is the first in Rhode Island to earn this rigorous full accreditation – a feat that has been challenging for the state’s PA programs to attain. Launched in January 2014, the PA program is the first in Bryant’s School of Health Sciences. Bryant’s PA program boasts high-tech classrooms, laboratories, and equipment, including two physician assistant classrooms, a high-fidelity simulation laboratory, and a physical examination laboratory. Introducing students to the management principles of medicine, the PA program at Bryant University offers a unique focus on the business fundamentals critical in today’s world of healthcare. There is a high need for business leaders and practitioners who are able to work collaboratively and across disciplines to ensure high-quality healthcare at manageable costs. Bryant’s integrative approach allows its students to do just that, and to pursue a career in healthcare while contributing to communities in need around the world.

Bulldogs Win Fifth-Straight NEC Men’s Commissioner’s Cup The Bryant University athletic department took home its fifth-straight NEC Men’s Commissioner’s Cup. The Bulldogs earned 84.43 points, followed by Central Connecticut and Wagner. For the fifth-straight year, the men’s tennis team won the NEC title, while the baseball team captured the NEC regular-season crown. Both football and men’s lacrosse placed second in the conference. In overall standings for the Brenda Weare Commissioner’s Cup, Bryant finished third, while Saint Francis University and Sacred Heart University finished first and second in both the Brenda Weare Commissioner’s Cup and the Joan Martin Women’s Commissioner’s Cup. Director Bill Smith said, “This accomplishment is not only a testament to how hard our student-athletes worked this year, but the efforts put in by our coaches and support staff to build consistent programs that are at the top of the league every year. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff on this tremendous honor." Five Bryant Bulldogs received major awards in 2017-18 and seven Bryant athletes were chosen as NEC Rookie of the Year or Meet in their respective sports.

The Class of 2022 participates in two longstanding Bryant traditions—the freshmen picnic with President and Mrs. Ronald K. Machtley at the Callahan House, and Convocation.

Ambassador Angle Senior Endy Perry was looking for a close-knit community, small classes, and a strong academic focus when he transferred to Bryant University in his sophomore year. Originally from Wilton, CT, Endy found exactly what he was looking for when he visited Bryant and made connections with faculty and staff who would assist him through the transition. Endy has truly found a home at Bryant and has embraced all of the academic and co-curricular opportunities available to him. A management major and communication minor, his internship in the summer of 2018 with PepsiCo on the Frito Lay sales team has already led him to a full-time position after graduation next year. Aside from this valuable internship experience, Endy has held important roles on campus as a Student Ambassador and Visit Team Leader, Business Manager of the Bottom Line, Chief Justice of Student Government, Vice President of Finance for Pi Sigma Epsilon, and Commissioner for Ways and Means. It’s fair to say that Endy never finds himself bored while on campus! Being a Student Ambassador and a Visit Team Leader are roles that have been especially meaningful to Endy. They have provided him with a chance to give back to prospective students the way that others helped him when he was in their shoes. Moments like working at Admitted Student Open House and hearing students tell him “you’re the reason why I chose Bryant”, have been particularly memorable. Endy has also spent a significant amount of his time dedicated to the Bottom Line, Bryant’s acapella group. During competition season Endy and the other vocalists will rehearse five times a week, and will also perform at University events throughout the month. The Bottom Line’s largest competition is the International Championship of Collegiate Acapella—a worldwide competition between 500—1,000 participants. This past year the Bottom Line made it to the semi-final round and performed at Boston Symphony Hall. Earning the distinction of one of the top 50 acapella groups in the world is a true honor for members of the Bottom Line, and has been an unforgettable experience for Endy. What’s next for Endy? Aside from his future career with PepsiCo, Endy says,he hopes to, “do anything I can to give back to the University and help the next generation of Bryant students be successful.”
