Campaign Driven for Success Donors Inspire......

We began our historic capital campaign with ambitious goals for a Bryant University transformed to prepare students to meet the challenges of a new century. We asked our community to invest in our vision, and our alumni, parents, faculty, students, staff, and friends came together with extraordinary spirit, pride, and generosity. The contributions and David C. Wegrzyn ’86, P’23 Vice President for University Advancement

steadfast dedication of so many people helped give Expanding the World of Opportunity: The Campaign For Bryant’s Bold Future its energy and focus, lifting our beloved institution to the next level of excellence.

Seeing the Value of the Bryant Experience and Contributing to its Future H. Kent Goetjen ’77, CPA, has a somewhat unique perspective on his alma mater. Recently retired from PwC as an audit partner and U.S. engineering and construction leader, he recruited accounting graduates from various universities throughout his career. “I watched Bryant grow through its students,” he says. “The school’s curriculum, with its balance of liberal arts and business, ensures a more well-rounded student who has the technical and communication skills to contribute to an organization immediately.” Goetjen also served on the accounting and business school advisory boards for Bryant and remains impressed with the school’s collaboration with local and national businesses and organizations to ensure that the University gives students what they need to succeed. “Bryant is more aware of what they need to provide in their education and consistently has partnered with the outside business community throughout its history to develop a curriculum that fulfills value for all parties.” While his involvement with Bryant started with recruiting for his employers, Goetjen continued his relationship beyond that and encourages other alumni to do the same. “We can all give back in some way. Bryant’s vision for creating a good student is fulfilled through its academic programs, physical resources, and work with the community, and we can all see the value and play a part in its further achievements.”

“We champion the University at every opportunity we can.” CARL AND CAROLYN BENNETT P’21 Parent Council Co-Chairs

“ The campus is beautiful, the faculty is among the most dedicated we’ve experienced in our combined years

The Barans believe that, beyond the financial benefits for the students, it’s important for faculty to donate because it allows them to feel invested in their workplace on a deeper level. The Barans’ most recent gift was designated to the University’s Honors Program, which fosters a community of exceptional students and mentors who inspire one another to excel. Susan Baran serves as Honors Program Associate Director. “ We both believe in Bryant and in the overall values of the University,” say the Barans. It is important for us to contribute to its continued success. Both our children are Bulldogs, and we consider ourselves a Bryant family. Giving is part of what we do as teachers – it’s in our DNA!”

Catherine (D’Acchioli) Parente ’78, CPA is no stranger to breaking barriers. “Sometimes I was the only woman in my class,” she recalls. She became one of Rhode Island’s first female partners in a CPA firm in 1987 and is the first woman to be named a partner at Sansiveri, Kimball & Co., LLP, where she specializes in fraud examination and financial forensics. Parente established the Parente Accounting Scholarship Fund in 2014 in memory of her parents, Ernest and Grace D’Acchioli, who instilled in her a solid work ethic and perseverance.
