LUNCHTIME: Drumming Club

Primary Drumming with Mr Bernardo is a fun and very energetic group. In this club you will play African and Samba drums, develop your rhythm skills and learn what it means to be a part of a group.

AFTER SCHOOL:

BSAK Tournament Of the Minds Club (TOMs)

TOMs is an exciting enrichment program that gives you the opportunity to complete STEM based challenges in small teams; e.g. Language and Literature, The Arts, STEAM, Mathematics, Technology and Social Sciences. To further enhance the challenge we add a competitive element to it as the teams will present their challenges at the end of the Term in an in-school competition. Through this experience you will develop your problem solving and critical thinking skills, whilst also developing your team work, leadership and time management skills. It’s great fun and supports you to think in diverse ways about a range of engaging challenges.

Junior Duke Awards

Children in the Junior Duke Awards complete a range of personal challenges including First Aid, learning to swim, cookery, domestic challenges, caring for others, making a presentation, learning words and phrases in a new language, Eco challenges, drama, sewing and many other fun things! It’s all about challenge and life skills. To note, some of the activities will need to be completed at home.

Snack & Chat Club

Snack and chat offers a warm, relaxed and welcoming opportunity to build relationships with children outside your normal circle of friends and across year groups. We have a lovely mix of girls and boys. It gives opportunities for turn taking and actively listening to each other without interrupting, key skills when having conversations. We all take it in turns to make large pots of tea and serve each other, have a snack and chat about all things under the sun!

Philosophy for Children Club

Philosophy for Children (P4C) is enquiry based learning which opens up children’s learning through the exploration of ideas. The children are taught how to develop their skills of listening, turn-taking and making a choice through a range of thinking or concept games and activities. This could be simply sorting pictures or statements according to whether they fit a certain criteria or refine our philosophical thinking and questioning skills by asking questions such as, “Is it ever acceptable to lie?”. Over time, children are encouraged to take ownership of the process of enquiry.

Recreational Football (Year 6 only)

Come along and join in with some friendly games on the mini-pitch. Have fun with your friends and enjoy some exercise at the same time!
