Spelling - statutory words, word endings spelt sion, cian, tion, ssion, suffix- ous, homophones. Etymology: nym, circ, arch, struct, port and vert. Grammar – simple past tense, expanded noun phrases, third person, adverbials and perspective, nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, similes and metaphors, bullet points, superlatives, commas, direct speech, rhetorical questions, Speaking and Listening - discussing book studies, listening and stating opinions, with evidence from the text. Daily retrieval and ongoing discussions.
MATHS:

Print Making and Textiles Create printing to represent Kente designs. Use tie dye to create colour designs.Combine media to create texture. Pupils will respond to the traditional designs of Kente cloth. They will create a range of surfaces, combining colour, texture and pattern. Pupils will explore the symbolic significance of colour. Moving toys Using cams to produce a moving toy. Knowing that different shaped cams produce different movements. Using wood and cams to produce a variety of movements.
COMPUTING: Sequencing and debugging skills in maze puzzles.write a program one instruction at a time,reading and editing code to fix puzzles with simple algorithms, loops and nested loops, building games to share.
MFL:
French We will learn items of clothing and link these to colours. Using the correct verb we will state what we are wearing with some added descriptions. We will explore further the concept of masculine and feminine nouns.
GEOGRAPHY: Environmental regions of Europe, Russia, North and South America Use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate the world’s countries, using maps to focus on Europe (including the location of Russia) and North and South America, concentrating on their environmental regions, key physical and human characteristics, countries, and major cities. Use eight points of a compass to build their knowledge of the United Kingdom and the wider world.
PE: Students will participate in Netball and Football; developing their skills in isolation and applying them in competitive situations. They will also continue to develop their swimming technique in all of the swimming strokes.
