What Are My Responsibilities As a Pupil? 1.
I must treat the laptop with respect at all times.
2.
I must make sure I don’t have any drinks or food around the laptop.
3.
I must ensure it is stored in its protective case when moving it. This does not include the power cable – this can be stored in my normal school bag.
4.
I mustn’t draw on the screen or any other part of the laptop.
5.
It must be charged and ready to be used at the beginning of the school day.
6.
It must be returned to school at the end of the school year in the same condition that it was given to me in.
7.
I understand there will be regular checks at school to ensure the laptops are working correctly and appropriately.
8.
I must use the ‘school login-in’ at school and the ‘home log-in’ at home.
What Are My Responsibilities As a Parent? 1.
I understand that my child has a set of guidelines that they are required to stick to.
2.
I understand that the laptop needs to be charged and ready to be used at the beginning of the school day.
3.
I understand that the laptop is a key element of my child’s learning and therefore needs to be looked after by my child.
4.
The laptop is for use by my child only.
5.
I understand there will be regular checks at school to ensure the laptops are working correctly and appropriately.
Dos and Don’ts! 1.
I can install printer drivers for use at home.
2.
I can install internet settings for use at home.
3.
Both of the above will happen on the ‘Home log-in’
4.
I can use a USB memory stick with this laptop but I must ensure it is scanned regularly for viruses.
5.
I can complete home-learning on the laptop if appropriate.
6.
I cannot make use of chat rooms and personal email on this laptop.
7.
I cannot use this laptop to access social networking sites.
8.
I cannot install games on this laptop.
9.
If something breaks or goes wrong with computer I must tell school straight away.
