This will be achieved by implementing equal opportunities and diversity practice across the three dimensions of the School’s activity: as an employer; an educator; and a resource of the local community.

HOMEHOME-SCHOOL AGREEMENT INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE •
Our school must have a home-school agreement, which is drawn up in consultation with both parents and children.
•
The agreement is a statement explaining: our school's aims and values; its responsibilities towards its pupils; the responsibilities of pupils' parents; and what the school expects of its pupils.
•
The Governing Body should take reasonable steps to make sure that parents sign the agreement, unless there are special circumstances which would make that inappropriate.
•
Parents are, however, not obliged to sign the agreement and should not be discriminated against if they refuse.
•
Our children are asked to sign the agreement and their section of the document is worded appropriately so that it is meaningful to them.
THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNING BODY •
Works with the Headteacher in consulting parents on the agreement, for example by helping to draft, carry out and collate questionnaires
•
Receives reports about the findings from questionnaires which may recommend appropriate action points for the School Development Plan.
RELEVANT LEGISLATION AND PUBLICATIONS • •
