Lettings Policy

SCHOOL LETTING POLICY Objectives The Governors wish to encourage the use of School premises by suitable organisations outside school hours. However they have a statutory duty to ensure that such use of the school premises and facilities does not impose a cost or other burden on the school or its staff.

Recognising the schools position in relationship to the local community and the support provided to the school by the community as a whole, concessionary letting rates will apply to non-profit making community institutions. In addition the Chairman of Governors and the Headteacher may at their discretion apply concessionary rates.

The Headteacher and the Governors retain the absolute right to exclude any organisation or individual from the school premises.

All lettings require an authorised keyholder to open the school and ensure that it is left clean, tidy and secure at the end of the letting.

Note 2

Special letting rates will apply for period or regular lettings and also for nonstandard letting requirements not covered by the table of charges above. Hirers should arrange an early meeting with the Headteacher to agree the details and rates.

Applications should be made on forms, available from the school office ten days in advance of letting date.

Payment in full should be made within ten working days of the issue of an invoice.

At least two days notice of cancellation must be given.

Smoking is not allowed on the school premises.

Responsibility for any damage rests with the hirer.

All rooms used must be left in a clean and tidy condition.

Only booked rooms and facilities are to be used.

Any crockery used should be left in a clean condition.

All breakages are to be reported to the office.

Hiring organisations must have their own Public Liability Insurance to minimum of £5,000,000. Hirers are not covered by the schools insurance.

For the all weather surface evening lettings are Monday to Thursday only and not after 8.30pm during the winter and 9pm during the summer.

Saturday lettings for the all weather surface only to be between 9.30am and 6pm

No Sunday lettings on the all weather surface.

Noise levels on all weather surface not to exceed guidelines from Environmental Health.
