DESIRABLE
Qualified teacher status and registered with the General Teaching Council National Professional Qualification for Headteachers (NPQH): either passed, working towards or accepted for the programme (unless the applicant is a serving headteacher)
Experience of classroom teaching across relevant key stage(s) Recent experience of senior leadership and management (as Headteacher, or Deputy Headteacher, or Assistant Headteacher) Understanding the Headteacher’s responsibilities and accountability to the Diocese.
Further professional qualifications Evidence of recent professional development or relevant in-service training
Experience of setting and monitoring a budget
ESSENTIAL 3. Personal Qualities
Committed and sympathetic to Christian attitudes and values. Ability to relate to children in and out of the classroom.
4. Leadership and Management
Knowledge of current legislation and developments in education Ability to manage change and lead school improvement
DESIRABLE Committed to: The Christian faith as a communicant member of the Church of England supported by a clerical reference.
Leading performance management and staff development Ability to use IT as a management tool.

Understanding of effective inclusion strategies
Ability to place the statutory requirements within a broad and balanced curriculum
