Job Site is a collaborative, multimedia installation created by Alisa Dworsky and Bill Ferehawk that explores the drawing and choreography inherent in architecture. The artists initially met in the Yale School of Architecture graduate program, where they had the opportunity to design and build a structure as part of their education. Years later this formative experience informed their first artistic collaboration, Job Site. Combining wood-framed construction with paper, graphite, and film projection, the artists explore the ephemeral and visceral process of building. From stray hammer marks to snapped chalk lines, Dworsky and Ferehawk represent the embedded and overlooked moments that animate a structure’s creation. Engaging our senses and imagination, Job Site reveals the mystery within the everyday architecture that surrounds and shelters us.
