https://www.patreon.com/bubbaworldcomix THE WAYWARD KRAKEN If you ever thought that someone should open a restaurant up for geeks, well, someone actually thought that also and they did it. L.B. Wilson and Canonblue Lebatard opened THE WAYWARD KRAKEN in downtown Biloxi, MS. I have eaten there with some friends of mine and let me tell ya's , once you eat at the Kraken you will be going Backen. I got the steak nachos and they were mighty fine, mighty fine. They have there cool nerd themed names for their dishes and the dishes are well worth the visit. They even have Hobbit's Second Breakfast on Sundays from 11am – 2pm. The dining area is decorated to make a nerd or geek feel right at home with all of the pop culture art and objects around. They have happenings thru the week there too. Every Tuesday they have Learn D&D, Thursdays are open table tops and fifty cent wings. The war game tables are free for play on Thursdays. That's right, they have a side room with gaming tables. They even sell

games there. If you have a group of people that number six or under then you can have access to their library of 200 table top games to play all night for just five dollars. How cool is that? Fridays or Saturdays they may have a local artist , this is based on availability. Saturday is classic console. Did I leave anything out?... mmm... oh , Wednesdays is Trivia. Winning team chooses the next week trivia. Every four weeks it goes back to general triva. End of the month they have special events. The Sunday we went they had Paint and Takes which was people learning how to paint the gaming miniatures. For you beer enthusiasts they have Mississippi Beers on tap. It's a fun place to check out if you're in the Biloxi area or make a special trip for it, you won't regret it.

COMIC SHOP SPOTLIGHTS 3 ALARM COMICS BILOXI MS is my go to shop. It's four hours away and I will go into any comic shop I find because there are none near me but 3 Alarm is my most regular shop. The owner, Scott Hoverman has the best guests at his events. Comic legends type of guests. I'm always down there set up at Free Comic Book Day , which was a blast this year as usual, and he usually has a Birthday Bash in December also that I try not to miss. He's in Biloxi on Lemoyne street and has pretty large collection of back issues and graphic novels on hand. The staff is pretty cool too and there's no telling who you might run into while in the store. 3 Alarm is located at 15210 Lemoyne Street , Biloxi MS and you can find them on the facebook at https://www.facebook.com/3alarmcomics/?ref=br_rs .

SOUTHERN FRIED COMICS HATTIESBURG MS is in the downtown area owned and managed by Barry Herring and I stopped in there for the first time when I was down for the SOUTHERN GEEKFEST in Hattiesburg, MS. I liked what I saw. It's got a cool vibe to it. The walls have the new books lined up easily with the latest issues and sectioned off by Marvel, D.C., Image and Independents. There is even a children's nook for the younger reader. The Graphic novels are in the back, which is where I usually head for. But the center of the store has tables with some of the cooler graphic novels laid out for you to discover. I .

Http://nowellmasseyfuneralhome.com saw the HILLBILLY trade vol. 1 by Eric Powell as I first walked in. I will be talking about this more in another article in this issue. Southern Fried Comics is located at 126 east Front Street , Hattiesburg MS 39401. You can find it on the facebook at https://www.facebook.com/southernfriedcomics/ Theses are two stores in Mississippi that you should check out. There are more and I will be checking them out as I can and talking about them in later issues. If you have a comic store near you be sure to support it and if you don't have one near you be sure to make a road trip to the ones we do have and check them out.

COMICS REVIEW HILLBILLY vol 1 trade. The easiest review I can give this comic is three words.... BUY THIS BOOK!!! I am so happy I got this trade. It collects the first four issues and they are fantastic. Hillbilly is done by Eric Powell and if you're not getting the series then you need to pick up the trades as they come out. It's published by Albatross Funnybooks. I won't tell you a lot so as not to spoil the story but the jest of it is this, It's a swords and sorcery tale told using Appalachian Mountain folk. If you don't have a comics store near you check out http://albatrossfunnybooks.com for HILLBILLY and other Eric Powell books.

http://bubbaworldcomix.weebly.com/shirts.html EATING OUT While my friends and myself were in Hattiesburg, MS for the SOUTHERN GEEKFEST a bunch of us invaded a restaurant that was called the PLAID RHINO. It was within short walking distance of the group of hotels a lot of us were staying in. It was a fun and fantastic evening. They have a game room with video games and the baskeball game. They had a machine that had Gallacta and Pac Man on it. How cool is that? Best of all , the food was awesome. I was going to get a burger then I saw that they had Bison. BISON! I love me some Bison. I'm such a carnivore. A friend of mine ordered the Ostrich burger but they were out of Ostrich that night but they had plenty of Bison and they cooked that Bison Burger to perfection I tells ya what. You can find the Plaid Rhino at 122 Carlisle St, Hattiesburg, MS 39402 or check out their website at http://theplaidrhino.com While coming into Hattiesburg that weekend I stopped at TBONES RECORDS & CAFE for a late lunch. This is not the first time that I've eaten here which is why I looked for it when I got into town. It's a vinyl record shop with a sandwich cafe in it. I forget the name of the sandwich I had but I know where it is at on the menu so I got the same one cause I loved it. PLUS IT'S A FREAKIN' VINYL RECORD SHOP TOO! They even open for breakfast with breakfast items too. I'll have to check that out later when I get a chance. You can find T Bones at 2101 Hardy St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401 or on the interwebs at http://tbonescafe.com . .

If you're not in the Hattiesburg area then both of these places are worth a road trip. When you're on the Mississippi Coast be sure to check out DORIS' HOT TAMALES at 10029 1st Ave W, D'Iberville, MS 39540. I try to go by their at least once every time I'm on the coast. They serve those good delta style tamales. It's a little stand that you walk up to the window and get your tamales at but it's been there for at least forty years. The daughter of Doris ( original owner ) runs it now. They even wrap 'em up in newspapers for ya. Be sure to check them out.

Just one more thing

And also July 22 on a Saturday is a Library comic

con at the vancleave , MS library. I will be at the Vancleave Library con.
