ABOUT TUBE STRIKE! Why can’t TfL, the Mayor’s Office and the unions agree?
London Underground submitted a proposal to the unions, which on the face of it appears reasonable – saying no employee will be forced to work longer hours, staff will be able to swap night shifts between themselves, and all will be able to refuse night shifts after a trial period.
Don’t tube drivers already get paid £50k? An average tube driver’s salary is £49,673. However. the strike is not about pay, but working patterns for staff who already work unsocial hours. In any case, most of the staff on strike are not tube drivers. (Source: The Guardian)

Paul A Young 低調奢華的 巧克力精品店
記得電影「濃情巧克力」（Chocolat）， Juliette Binoche 飾演的女主角 Vianne 在民風保守的法國小鎮上開了家巧 克力店，透過不同口味的巧克力征服了人們的味蕾、解讀 內心深處的秘密。在倫敦也有一位巧克力藝術大師 Paul A Young，運用他的巧手和創意，呈現出巧克力最豐富多變的 面貌。 Paul A Young 來自英國約克郡，畢業於飯店餐飲管理科系， 原本是甜點師傅，曾幫 Marks & Spencer 和 Sainsbury's 等 大型超市研發產品，也是活躍螢光幕前的電視名廚。2006 年 Paul 開始在倫敦創立自己的巧克力專賣店品牌，以其 特有的巧克力美學和對品質的堅持迅速打響名號，如今在 倫敦已經有四個店點。由於 Paul 善於運用各種原料創造 出獨特的巧克力口味，被稱為「口味的煉金師」（flavor alchemist）。 When it comes to comfort food, chocolate tops the list for many people. 位於 Shoreditch 附近，走路就能到的 Monster Supplies，是一間專門承辦優良食品給怪獸們的店舖。 根據老闆娘所說，這間專賣店開張於 1818 年，但一直到 2010 年才開放給人類，也就是說，店鋪裡 面的人有可能是怪獸、也有可能是人類，是不是很有趣呢 ! 大部分的客人都具有百年以上的光顧歷 史，不管客人是吸血鬼、狼人，還是北美好野人，所有想要的食品與生活用品，除了實體商店，幾 乎也可以透過網路商城訂購，原來怪獸的世界也是很現代化的 ! Monster Supplies is a sweet shop especially catering for the everyday needs of monsters on this planet. Its location is within the walking distance from Shoreditch. According to the shopkeeper, Monster Suppliers was opened in 1818, but not until 2010 did it become available to human beings. So you’ll never know the exact identity of everyone in the shop. Once you get through the door, you suddenly realize how far-reaching and unique this sweet shop is. At Monster Supplies, you could see a board where monsters are used to posting adverts to look for potential flat mates, missing brains, or someone's fallen eyeball. There is even a monster VIP list showing those regular customers' name hanging behind the front desk. What's more! If accidentally be died, a monster could also get a death certificate here. [ 創 店 小 故 事 Story behind the Monster Supplies] Monster Supplies 的背後是一間為 當地小孩設立的書寫工作室，讓孩 子們發揮想像力、培養書寫以及說 故事的能力。恐懼罐頭裡面的故事 都是由這些小孩子寫出來的，店鋪 的收入也部分回饋回給工作室，小 編自己就深受吸引買了一罐聽說 是 最 可 怕 的 成 人 恐 懼 罐 頭 (Mortal Terror)。 此 外，Monster Supplies 也一直在招募帶領書寫工作坊、以 及糖果店店員的志工，如果想一窺、 或加入怪獸的世界，不妨過去走走， 說不定還能巧遇來自世界各地的明 星怪獸喔 ! Behind the Monster Supplies, it is a creative writing centre called the Ministry of Stories. This organization aims to stir local children’s imagination and build their confidence through storytelling. All of the stories in Tinned Fear were written by those creative young children. Part of the income of the sweet shop also goes back to the Ministry of Stories. Furthermore, Monster Supplies is continually recruiting fearless volunteers to support the in-store running and writing workshops. 一年一度的草地音樂節 Glastonbury Music Festival 於六月底盛大上演，在眾多國際新銳樂團間，這是第二年有台灣 的樂團和歌手得到主辦單位青睞，獲邀演出，分別是魏如萱、激 膚樂團、DJ Code 與其 Vocal 少詩。Glastonbury 是目前世界最 大的露天音樂節，每年在英國西南邊 Pilton 小鎮附近隆重登場， 至今已經邁入 45 個年頭，除了音樂以外，也有戲劇、舞蹈、馬戲、 藝術等其他眾多表演藝術，是每個音樂愛好者和 Party 愛好者不 可錯過的重頭戲。 6/23 晚間，在倫敦東北邊的 The Barfly 特別舉辦了一場台灣之 夜，魏如萱、激膚樂團、DJ Code 等人提前嗨翻全場，當天免費 入場，原本只塞的下 200 人的場地，盛況空前，總共來了將近 400 人 ! 人在異鄉，可以在英國倫敦聽到來自東方的音樂表演， 實在是和吃到滷肉飯，與喝到珍珠奶茶同等的滿足和爽快呀 !

魏如萱 Waa-Wei 台灣創作女歌手、廣播主持人、與 DJ。以其清新、甜而不膩 的唱腔，和創作能力大受歡迎。2003 年出道，曾經是「自然 捲」樂團的主唱，2011 年加入 HitFM 聯播網，主持「OH 夜 DJ」。發行過多張單曲與個人專輯，2014 年剛發行第四張個 人專輯《還是要相信愛情阿混蛋們》。 Waa-Wei is a Taiwanese pop artist and radio DJ, who is extremely anticipated for her sweet and distinctive voice and style. The restaurant thus appointed the head chef with 40 years of experience in Chinese cuisine in Hong Kong and Japan – Master Law to manage the dim sum and Chinese dish sections. Master Law, who has been Master Chef at several famous Chinese restaurants in both Hong Kong and Japan, said, “Japan’s economy soared in the 1980s, during which Japanese people had their first taste of Cantonese cuisine and fell in love with it. Cantonese restaurants thus flourished, attracting many Hong Kong chefs to develop their career and unleash their creativity in Japan. Before that, Chinese cuisine in Japan, known as Chuka Ryori, mainly used common root vegetables found in the country such as potato and radish, with thick sauces and monotonous taste. It was we, the Cantonese chefs, who introduced various vegetables to Japan. Now we hope to combine the real taste of Cantonese cuisine with quality fresh ingredients purchased at the origin to create more healthy and delicious Hello Kitty traditional Chinese dishes.”
