New year, new look in Buckhorn Lodge gameroom

The beloved game room in Buckhorn Lodge is quite overdue for some TLC, something maintenance director/groundskeeper/jack of all trades John Fialko is quite good at taking care of. After clearing out the room and fixing part of a wall, the gameroom floor is ready for a fresh coat of paint and a few more updates here and there. Stay tuned for the progress of this fun space! Top: Buckhorn Lodge gameroom in its current state, ready for some updates. Right: Before it was the gameroom, this space was the kitchen & dining hall for the camp! Pictures circa mid-1960’s.

From the Director Hey there, I have been in communication with many pastors, children’s directors and youth leaders about our 2018 summer season and I am super excited about the potential impact that God can make through Buckhorn in the lives of all who are planning to experience camp this year! This excitement doesn’t come without cause. There is a lot to look forward to in 2018 at Buckhorn Camp. This year we are planning to complete our newest retreat lodge and add 2 escape rooms, a garden, bicycles, and much more. Registration is already open for our youth camps and we currently have almost 50 campers registered! We’ve also just opened registration for Camp Hope and will soon be adding a

Families in Service Camp to our list of options. This camp will be a great opportunity for inter generational service and an outlet for those just getting into volunteering. Stay tuned for more information about our Families in Service Camp. We hope you’ll take the opportunity to experience all there is to offer at Buckhorn Camp this year. Be on the look out for scholarship opportunities in mid-February!

Communication Difficulties

Volunteer Opportunities

We are trying to resolve the phone-based communication issues that have been happening at camp, and appreciate your grace as we work on solutions. Our current phone lines are internet based, and when the power goes out (a semi-frequent occurrence with 70-80 mph wind storms!), we lose our phone lines. If you have called or call in the future and leave a voicemail, we ask that you please follow that phone call up with an email to director@buckhorncamp.org to ensure no messages slip through the cracks. The multi-faceted needs of camp work often require the director to be outside of the physical office, another reason to follow up via email since the telephone is not always within reach. Thank you for understanding! We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports Buckhorn Camp and the wonderful ministry opportunities it provides. We are so excited to help everyone who enters camp Explore, Grow, Build, & Create during their visit here! One of the many bucks
