Continueous Coil Mixed Media Project

5th Graders are finishing up their continuous coilmixed media projects in Art. Students started bycreating a continuous line drawing, which they thenused those as inspiration for continuous coils ofclay. The students are now working on backgroundpaintings, which will be connected both physicallyand visually with the clay. Says Art Teacher KrisSinisi, "I love this project because it's purposefullyopen-ended. It allows the students to follow theirown creative inspirations - be it from literature, art,real life, landscapes. Their personalities get to reallyshine through."
