Research with impact
Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) has world leading and internationally excellent research and welcomes applications for research degrees across a wide range of disciplines, including: Nursing, Health and Wellbeing; Art, Design, Performance and Environment; Business, Management, Aviation and Security; and Higher Education.
We have a vibrant research community with an excellent track record in encouraging and supporting our MPhil and PhD students to completion. Our staff are involved in a range of research projects and consultancy activities and are often invited to speak at national and international conferences.
We offer two types of research degree: Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on a full-time or part-time basis. You would study for both qualifications here at BNU, supervised and supported by staff at BNU. However, the degrees are awarded by Staffordshire University, our validating partner.
There is also an opportunity to apply for a Vice Chancellor PhD Studentship Award. We have three available each academic year for PhD applicants on a full-time mode of study. The award would cover tuition fees for a maximum period of three years and a bursary of £15,000 p.a. for three years.
