Microblading For Fuller Eyebrows

icroblading, a process of adding semi-permanent ink to an eyebrow using tiny brush strokes to mimic eyebrow hairs, is the latest technique for creating fuller looking eyebrows. Because in this form of cosmetic tattooing the needles are extremely fine, the lines created by this procedure actually resemble eyebrow hair. Microblading gives people with sparse or patchy eyebrows a chance to restore their eyebrows to a full and natural-looking appearance. Mix Matched Bridesmaids Don't be afraid to let loose and give your girls the green light to put their best foot forward. To unify your bridal party, choose one item that will be consistent like everyone having the same hair and makeup or identical shoes in an unexpected color. 14. Dessert Food Trucks Dessert is the best part of the night. Guests are drooling over late night treats especially when it comes in the form of an ice cream and waffles food truck! Milk shake shooters and milk and cookie to-go bags are also much appreciated. 15. Man’s Best Friend Bucks County couples love the idea of having their pooch be a part of their big day. Will your fur baby be a part of the ceremony? Walk down the aisle? Party all night long? While we’re all for pups at the party, there are a lot of things to consider before you say I do to bringing your doggy to your wedding! First and Foremost: Does your venue allow pets? Typically B&B’s, farm type venues and outdoor estates will say OK to your four-legged friend being on the property. Hotels, catering halls and ballrooms are definitely less pet friendly. If your venue is on board, consider how easy it will be to keep your pooch contained, out of trouble and have easy access to grassy areas for 160

potty breaks. Even though this is your big day, you have to take your guests into consideration. Does anyone have a severe pet allergy or aversion to dogs? Since you and your significant other will be a bit busy, do you have a designated doggie sitter to take the reins? You’ll need someone to make sure your best bud gets food, water and taken to the facilities. You know our dog. Is it an over excitable, not so well trained pup? A veteran family member that knows how to chill? Having a dog jumping all over you and your guests, barking and attacking the buffet may not be appropriate for this setting. If you’re still not giving up on including your fur-baby, consider these options: Have someone at the ceremony to oversee the dogs care and promptly following your I do’s return them to the room. It’s helpful if you’re staying on the property where the wedding is taking place. If the venue is a no-go, consider doing your engagement shoot with your pet to relieve the added stress of having them at the actual wedding. 16. Hair & Makeup Don’t make any drastic changes to your normal style. For Example, don’t dye your hair a different color or go for extreme highlights. Go with a more glammed up version of what your normally do. The goal is to be a more defined and polished version of the everyday you. Trials are key to making sure the look and style of hair and makeup you chose actually work with your face and skin tone. It’s also a great idea to schedule your hair and makeup trial right before you have a dress fitting so you can get the full effect and make sure you are comfortable with the overall package. Make sure you have inspiration pictures for your hair and makeup team. Having a visual on hand is always the best way to represent what you are going for. Try and chose images of people with similar hair and skin color as your own. Don’t forget that for most of you, your ceremonies will be taking place during the day. Harsh and heavy makeup might be great for a night on the town but in the reality of day, you can look overdone. pring is my favorite time of year–the flowers are in bloom, the birds are singing, and somewhere there is newly engaged couple planning their dream wedding. For those couples that want to make a statement with their wedding, we present some unique Delaware Valley locations. You’ll discover inns, historic estates, golf clubs, even an art musem.
Lambertville Station RESTAURANT & INN Situated along the Delaware River in New Jersey, you will discover the Hunterdon County landmark of The Lambertville Station Restaurant & Inn. For over 30 years, happy couples have been choosing the romantic venue for destination weddings. According to Owner Dan Whitaker, they are a one-stop facility. You can have a rehearsal dinner at the restaurant. There is a chapel for ceremonies by the newly designed inn ballroom. From the ceremony venue, you walk about 20 steps into the Riversedge Lounge for the cocktail hour. It has open arches, and is on the ground level next to the river and Swan Creek. Then you can take the elevator or climb the glass enclosed spiral staircase to the Riverside 162

Ballroom. It opened in the spring of 2014, and can accommodate up to 200 guests. The new banquet facility has three walls of glass, eight feet in height, with picturesque views of the river. After the reception, the bride and groom can go to the Riverview Suite. The bridal suite is on the top floor, and overlooks the Delaware. It features a luxurious bath with rain shower and soaking tub, a living room with a double-sided fireplace, and a bedroom. Guests can stay overnight at the inn, which has 45 rooms. The following day, Lambertville Station can host a honeymoon farewell brunch. The Lambertville Station Restaurant & Inn has garnered top awards for its weddings. They recently won WeddingWire Couples Choice’ Awards 2016, along with the AAA Diamond Award and the Best of MyWedding.com 2016. Couples can use their event manager in preparing for the big day. A bridal attendant is available to assist with the events of the wedding day. The site offers its own catering, and Banquet Chef Sabino Cruz is in charge of the cuisine. The Lambertville Station Restaurant & Inn
holds one wedding at a time, and is booking into 2018. There is a selection of packages to fit the couple’s tastes and budget. “For second and third marriages, it is popular to have the ceremony down in the restaurant’s wine cellar by the fireplace. We can do cocktails and hors d’oeuvres there for 40 people,” Whitaker says. A wedding in the Riverside Ballroom can include five hours of deluxe open bar, champagne or wine toast, entree selections, choice of salad and appetizer, a custom wedding cake, table votives, and linens. There is an extensive list of wedding enhancements—a candy bar, Cold Stone Creamery ice cream station, chocolate fountain, wine service, children’s menu, spa robes for the room, Chiavari chairs, even a custom ice sculpture. Holly Hedge Estate Bed & Breakfast Built in the late 1700s and part of the original William Penn land grant, HollyHedge Estate is situated on 21 bucolic acres. Located near the Delaware River in New Hope, the estate has its own rustic charm and has become a premier destination for Bucks County weddings. According to General Manager Tim Luccaro, his family has been committed to preserving the elegance and natural beauty of their 18th-century farm and estate since taking over in 1994. They are stewards of their estate’s history and the pristine land on which they are located. His family has refurbished many of the historic buildings, restored the estate’s architectural features, and rejuvenated its land. They have a number of acres of land that were put under cultivation to grow various items that they can use in the preparation of food for weddings and their inn guests. “We are taking farm-to-table and sustainability to a new level. The food we can’t grow, we try to obtain for local sources,” Luccaro says. The estate has several areas of interest for brides and grooms to utilize during their weddings. There is a classic fieldstone bank barn, which is popular for wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. “The Old Barn” has all exposed fieldstone and wood beams throughout the barn. Adjacent to it is a classic English garden. On the property there also are two small ornamental ponds, which are popular for pictures. There is a newer pole barn that was constructed for receptions. This space has all of the modern amenities. At the estate’s original manor house, there are 15 guest rooms. Inn guests can enjoy a full-service breakfast on weekends. HollyHedge Estate has garnered numerous awards from WeddingWire, as well as The Knot. They can host up to 200 guests for a wedding. Couples have access to their two fulltime onsite wedding planners. All of the catering at HollyHedge Estate is done in-house. Executive Chef Jose Calderon offers Nouveau American cuisine with French and Spanish influences. Pastry Chef Janine Harrison does all of the
baking. Several wedding packages are available, which can include stationary and passed hors d’ oeuvres, a sit-down dinner with champagne toast, salad course, and main course selections. Lumberville 1740 House Country Inn Along the Delaware River in the quaint village of Lumberville you will find the historic Lumberville 1740 House Country Inn. Originally a working farm in the 1700s, it was later purchased by Harry Nessler in 1968 and turned into a motor lodge, with rooms having views of the river and the Lumberville-Raven Rock Pedestrian Bridge. In 2010, new owners purchased the 1740 House, including Joe Luccaro, owner of HollyHedge Estate. The partners restored and preserved the lengthy twostory inn. The 1740 House is a sister property of HollyHedge Estate. The wedding coordinators at HollyHedge work with the 1740 House to plan weddings and rehearsal dinners. The 1740 House has its own catering staff, and the executive chef at HollyHedge oversees the food quality and production. Both properties offer wedding packages that include the cake, ceremony, reception, flowers, and linens. According to General Manager Tim Luccaro, the 1740 House is ideal for small intimate weddings, as well as rehearsal dinners. “The 1740 House has a smaller capacity. In the winter, the maximum party size outdoors is 40 people. When we can make use of the patio and outside area, it goes up to 65 maximum. We can set up a package where we have the rehearsal din-
ner at the 1740 House outside and along the river. The next day, the wedding ceremony takes place at HollyHedge. You also can have the ceremony outside of the 1740 House along the waterfront, and the reception takes place in The 1740 Club. This members-only club features a bar, and a dining room with an old stone fireplace,� Luccaro says. Small intimate weddings at the 1740 House currently are booking three months to a year out, according to Luccaro. Brides and grooms can get a tour of the historic country inn by appointment only. If you have attended a wedding at Bolingbroke Mansion, The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, The Barnes Foundation, University of Pennsylvania, or the James A. Michener Art Museum, chances are it was catered by Philadelphia’s Catering by Design (CBD). CBD came to the life in 1991. It was founded by Peter Loevy, a graduate of Colgate University as well as The Restaurant School, and a veteran of the catering and restaurant industry. The company’s staff of full-time designers creates custom menus
inspired by global dishes. They also can customize decor and entertainment options for a special occasion. Catering By Design (CBD) is the exclusive caterer for Doylestown’s James A. Michener Art Museum. The site can host such events as bridal showers, cocktail receptions, and, of course, weddings. During your special event, guests can experience a docent-led tour of the galleries. There are three unique spaces at the museum. In the Grand Entrance Hall, you can enjoy a cocktail reception for 150-plus guests. The Patricia D. Pfundt Sculpture Garden Terrace can accommodate over 200 for a cocktail reception; 160 for a seated reception with dancing; or 200 for a seated reception with no dancing. Then there is the Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion. Here you can have banquet seating for 180 guests with dancing. The pavilion is a 2,500 square-foot light-filled structure constructed totally of glass. There is a 4,500 square-foot outdoor courtyard just for receptions and ceremonies. The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm “Imagine your guests entering through the large white gates of the estate, past the bronze horses, down the tree-lined country drive. The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm is a 300-year-old historic Colonial estate situated on acre after acre of conserved woods and meadows. The historic home was once owned by American playwright George S. Kaufman. “Our manor house, gazebo, barns, gardens, pastures, and wildflower fields offer unique and beautiful backdrops for your celebration and photos,” Frank says. The inn is a member of the Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America. The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm was recognized by Brides for one of the best venues. Its restaurant was named as one of the top 100 most romantic restaurants in the country for the second year in a row. According to Frank, all of the details are taken care of for your Wedding Day. There are many locations on the property to hold ceremonies and cocktail hours. Your dining reception can be held in a white tent, the conservatory, or a fully modernized rustic style barn. Starting in 2018, the newly expanded barn will be able to accommodate 200 guests. There are 16 suites on the property for those interested in a destination wedding.
