IN MACKAY
How do we reach a generation of young people that don’t know the Gospel?
“If a shepherd has 100 sheep and one goes wandering away, will not the shepherd leave the 99 to go looking for the one that wondered away?” IWT is a Bold and deliberate push to reach the youth of Australia! Well I am excited to share with you all that God has been doing in my life over the last few months. We are right in the middle of probably the most busy and chaotic seasons that I think we have ever had here in North Queensland . Impact World Tour is literally on our doorstep with over 100 team members from around the world beginning to arrive next week. ”Struth” as we would say here! Everything for me has been turned upside down, I have moved down to Mackay and have been there for the past 3 month. We are preparing for the gospel to be presented like never before in this area. I am working with 2 other IWT staff in Mackay to target Mackay, Sarina and the Whitsundays. Approximately 150 000 people in that area, with only around 3% or youth involved in Church or Christian fellowship. So not only are we wanting to present the Gospel to this region but we are also working with the local churches to set up new ways to reach out to a distant and often missed generation. Its exciting seeing how God is moving amongst the churches, with a new level of unity and combined focus on reaching the lost. One of my main roles is working on he discipleship following the event nights, we are believing for over a 1000 people to respond in the 3 areas we are working. So the biggest challenge is looking into how we can prepare nets to catch the harvest but also make sure that they are placed into relevant discipleship programs. So we are looking at starting new none denominational discipleship groups all across the city, mainly focused on Children and youth. Apart from working with YWAM and being involved in staffing DTS’s I have never been involved in this kind of thing before so it has been awesome to see as God is beginning to provide answers and strategies as we continue to pray and seek him. The opportunity is really there to see these different cities really changed! Much prayer is still needed though as there are so many ways that God still needs to prepare us. Also the Lord has been opening up chances for me to speak in churches and youth groups, which I feel is something that God is wanting to train me in for future ministry. Only God knows, but it has been great to be working with all different church denomination and being able to encourage and challenge people is a great privilege for a young-in like me. I am also doing the counsellor training in the different cities, which is two 2 hour sessions. We are aiming to train up around 1000 people from the local churches to be equipped to fellow up with the people that respond on the nights of the events.

What is God saying to Me Its funny, I think that every year I feel like I am in the steepest learning curve of my life. Just when I think I am getting somewhere God just opens up a completely new side of himself that just blows me away. So once again I feel like a kid in a world of giants. Yet I hang onto his promises for my life and keep on running
