FIELD GUIDE

“Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths!” Proverbs 3:5-6 The dumbest thing I ever did was ignore the biggest “DO NOT ENTER” sign ever. The sign clearly was put there to keep me from going in the wrong direction - but I was in a hurry to get to where I thought I needed to go so I ignored the sign and soon found myself in a place I didn’t need to be. The smartest thing I ever did was turn around and put myself back into position to get where I should be! META for 25 years, has been dedicated to helping students get to where they should be. This year’s camp is no exception. We hope by the time you leave here this weekend you’ll be “honed” in to the true GPS that can get you there.

ALIGN align (v) 1

to arrange in a straight line; adjust according to a line.

2. to bring into a line or alignment. 3. to bring into cooperation or agreement with a particular group, party, cause, etc.: He aligned himself with the liberals. 4.

to adjust (two or more components of an electronic circuit) to improve the response over a frequency band, as to align the tuned circuits of a radio receiver for proper tracking throughout its frequency range, or a television receiver for appropriate wideband responses.

What do you think of when you think of the word align? What about alignment? Perhaps you think of a chiropractor aligning your mom’s back or a mechanic aligning the front end of your dad’s truck. What about when it comes to you and your relationship with God? What in your life is aligned with God and His Word? Is just salvation through His Son? Or is more of your life aligned with God has shown you through His Word. Take a few minutes and think about the word align and the definitions listed above. What adjustments do you need to make to be aligned with God and what He says about you in His Word?

Navigate to the following passages in your Bible and read the following passages and meditate on what God is saying through them. Jeremiah 29:11 Proverbs 11:5

Walk—Stand—Sit Navigate to Psalm 1 in your Bible. Read it over a few times. Notice it said a man is blessed if he doesn’t do three things.

What are they?

(1) __________________________ (2) __________________________ (3) __________________________

Did you notice the progression of the path of wrong choices?

Walking…..standing….sitting.

What are the differences between the three and what do they signify?

______________________ ______________________ ______________________ Spend some time with God communicating with Him about these verses and how they reflect your life? Is he showing you any alignments that need to be made?

GOD IS... Navigate in your Bible to Revelation 4:8-11. Read through it several times. Spend some time just thinking about who God is

….His holiness

....His honor

....His glory

Worship Him by saying the words of the four living creatures that have six wings.

Worship Him by the example of the twenty-four elders ….falling down before him …..worshipping Him ….laying down your crowns before God’s throne …..saying, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

faith evolution Navigate in your Bible to Daniel 3:1-18. Read through it paying special attention to verses 16-18. The first part of verse 18 offers a huge challenge to our faith. Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego were confident in their God to say to the King, “but even if He does not, we will not serve your gods or worship the image you’ve made.” Have you ever been through a circumstance that you would say, “but even if He does not, I will still place my faith in Him?

What are some situations that could be an “even if He does not?”

How do you need to align your faith to be able to say, “even if He does not, I will not serve other gods or worship other images?”

embark You know what to do by now. Perhaps, over the weekend, God has prompted you to deal with some stuff in your life that will grow your relationship with God and your relationships with people.

Maybe you’ve even got some choices to make. Navigate in your Bible to Proverbs 3:5-6. Read through it a few times. You may even remember a song that you learned when you were younger to help you memorize this passage. Do you notice the three things that are listed for us to do? What are they? (1) __________________________ (2) __________________________ (3) __________________________ What is the promise at the end of verse six, if we do those three things? Also notice the use of the word “all.” Where is it used? Are there some places in your heart where you aren’t trusting God with all your heart?

Talk to Him about those areas. Are there some “ways” in your life that you aren’t acknowledging Him? Are you trying to keep some “ways” a secret? Talk to God about those “ways” and how you can acknowledge Him in them or ask Him to help you get rid of the “ways” that don’t acknowledge Him
