In an obscure story in I Chronicles 11, we find David, the anointed King, hiding in a cave in the hills outside Bethlehem. He has his devoted men with him and his enemies have occupied his hometown. David, sitting by the fire with three of his devoted men, simply uttered a wish: “O that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!� It was just a wish, not a command from the King, yet the 3 devoted men at great risk to their own lives, went into enemyoccupied land and got the water for David. David, seeing their devotion, wisely did not drink the water but instead offered it to the Lord as a recognition of the passion of these men to please their King.

STIR OUR PASSION METAPC 11 is about a stirring of that kind of passion for our King, Jesus! These next few days, we will be challenged to allow the spirit to stir our souls, not to just do the commands of our King, but to hear His wishes for us. In order to hear His wishes we must be in His presence and when we hear, we must act on what we hear! From the continued reading of scripture, laying out our heart in the prayer book, being led in passionate worship and hearing challenging messages from Jeremy, we can all be stirred deeply to first change our hearts and then to change the world.

COLOSSIANS 3:1-17

Under the new covenant...
