Press Release
The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne has reached another milestone and has been honored with the highest award of the new MICHELIN Guide’s Keys program: three MICHELIN Keys. This recognizes the resort for its unique character, exceptional service and first-class hospitality.
(Obbürgen, Switzerland) October 10, 2024 – The award of three MICHELIN Keys places the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne in the exclusive league of the world's best hotels. The MICHELIN Guide describes hotels with three Keys as “the ultimate in comfort and service, style and elegance”, highlighting the resort's exceptional hospitality, excellent service and distinctive concept. The resort is among only nine Swiss Hotels awarded with Three MICHELIN Keys, the Guide’s highest hotel honor.
The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne offers its guests a symbiosisof modern architecture, traditional Swiss charm, excellent culinary highlights and special experiences that perfectly reflect the three MICHELIN Keys. It is therefore hardly surprising that the iconic resort hosted this year's high-level conference on peace in Ukraine and captivates luxury travelers from all over the world every year from the very first glance at Lake Lucerne. “We are extremely proud to have received the highest award with three MICHELIN Keys. This recognition is confirmation of the passion of our team, who strive for excellence every day to offer our guests a unique stay,” explains Chris K. Franzen, Managing Director.
Two other Bürgenstock Collection hotels are also delighted to have been awarded one MICHELIN Key each: Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa and Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne. This further strengthens the prestigious Bürgenstock Collection in Switzerland and stands for the unsurpassed hospitality and style that keeps guests coming back.
The debut of the MICHELIN Keys in Germany, Austria and Switzerland comprises 271 hotels, including 87 in Switzerland. The MICHELIN Keys are awarded according to strict criteria based on anonymous visits by MICHELIN inspectors. The aim is to recognize hotels that not only offer outstanding hospitality, but also innovative concepts and distinctive experiences.
