Fl. Reman Plant Suffers Fire
A fire at Universal Forest Products' remanufacturing facility in Auburndale, Fl., destroyed an estimated $80,000 to $100,000 in maintenance and woodworking equipment.
The Dec. 2l blaze leveled an open 60-by-40-ft. pole barn that housed saws, filing equipment, and lumber.
The fire began while the business was in operation, shortly after l1 a.m. on a Saturday. No injuries were reported. The fire's origin is under investigation.
Store Regains Emptied Safe
Police have recovered the safe taken in the Dec. 2 burglary of True Value Hardware, Mineral Wells, Tx.
The 140-lb. safe was found 10 days later, with its door missing, in a dumpster near the local municipal airport.
