The organically shaped dish is part of the “Flower”, which consisted in its entirety of the dish underneath, two different bowls and a vase, which together form the “Flower”. Comprising: 1 tureen with cover and stand (length 31 cm including handles), 1 sauce-boat on stand, 1 oval bowl, (length 24 cm), 1 circular serving dish (diam 33,5 cm), 2+2+1+2+1 oval serving dishes (length 22,5, 27,5, 32,5, 38 and 43 cm), 17 soup plates (diam 26 cm, one with minor chip to reverse), 23 dinner plates (diam 26 cm, one with minor chip to reverse, one with minor glaze crack to reverse), 21+7 side dishes (diam 18 and 16,2 cm, a few minor chips), 20+4 dessert plates (diam 21 and 20,5 cm, one with large chip). 41. Wilhelm Kåge, a “Surrea” vase, Gustavsberg, Sweden ca 1940. White so called carrara ware, partly painted in black, stamped GUSTAVSBERG SURREA KÅGE in grey, an inpressed S. Height 24 cm. Surrea was shown for the first time at the Nordiska Kompaniet's exhibition "Idyll and panic in the furnace" 1940. Kåge was then tired of the traditional forms, and according to journalist Gustaf Näsström, he had turned into a "Picasso at the turntable". Surrea was made as divided vases, whole white, painted or with a patterned twig. Production was very limited because they were very complicated to manufacture; It was difficult to merge the parts without getting firing cracks. Minor chips to base. (d)

271. Poul Kjaerholm, a pair of “PK 25” easy chairs, “The Element Chair”, edition E Kold Christensen, Denmark. Steel bars with a mat finish, flag halyard. The chair is Poul Kjaerholm's first model, drawn in 1951 and executed as his degree project in 1952. Already here, Kjaerholm seeks to reduce the material, his desire to create a pure form of a single piece of steel. Fritz Hansen made a few copies of the model in the 1950s. E Kold Christensen then took up production in 1960 and then called the chair PK25. In 1982 Fritz Hansen took over the production of Kjaerholm's furniture. Literature: Ed.
