Since our founding, we have been dedicated to designing tours that truly capture the essence of each destination through authentic and immersive experiences, all within small groups of no more than 20 travellers.

Philosophy

Small Group

Top 10 Reasons Why Smaller Is Better

1 Less Time Waiting

Getting on and off vehicles, taking comfort stops, checking into hotels, and enjoying meals — everything is easier and quicker with a smaller group, giving you more time to enjoy your holiday.

2 More Time with Your Guide

Our low guest-to-guide ratio means you’ll have more one-on-one time to ask questions and take advantage of your guide’s expert local knowledge.

3 More Seating Space

With our small group of up to 12 passengers, you’ll have plenty of room to spread out with seats to spare.

4 Better Views

Full vehicles often mean your holiday photos feature the back of people’s heads. When the vehicle isn’t full everyone has a better view.

Explore Africa with our intimate groups of up to 12 travellers. Our tours offer comfort and a variety of transportation options, including river cruises.

5

More Hotel Choice

Big groups can only stay at large, and often impersonal, chain hotels. Small groups have the flexibility to stay at the smaller hotels with lots of character that are also closer to the action.

6 Less Time on Vehicles

So that you have more time to fully immerse yourself in the unique wilderness, connect with locals and create lasting memories.

7 Flexibility

Small groups are more flexible, so we can change the itinerary around to suit the local conditions.

8 Get Off the Tourist Trail

The logistical challenges of large groups restrict them to places and experiences that can cater for large numbers. Small groups can get off the beaten track and really experience a destination.

9

Be a Responsible Tourist

Small groups are low-impact and don’t ruin the very place you’ve come to see. By not being limited to large hotels and restaurants we are able to better help the local communities we visit.

10 More Fun!

Being in a small group means you get to know all your fellow travellers, not just a small portion of the group. Many of our guests establish lasting friendships on our tours.

Meals

Breakfast is included daily along with group welcome and farewell dinners. We’ll also include some special dining experiences along the way and meals where it might be tricky to get it for yourself. We don’t include all meals so you can eat outside a hotel setting and experience life as a local.

Multi-Night Stays

We include multi-night stays across Africa so you can truly soak up your surroundings. It’s about finding the perfect balance between exploration and relaxation, giving you plenty of time to unwind and enjoy your holiday.

Meals

Breakfast is included daily along with group welcome and farewell dinners. We’ll also include some special dining experiences along the way and meals where it might be tricky to get it for yourself. We don’t include all meals so you can eat outside a hotel setting and experience life as a local.

Character Accommodation

While big groups stay in large hotel chains, we have the flexibility to choose from a wider range of accommodation based on character, service and location. Whether it’s a resort spa in Kiwengwa Beach, tented camps in Maasai Mara, or cabin-style rooms in Aberdare National Park; if it enhances your experience, we’ll include it.

No Hidden Extras

Our tours include all sightseeing, many meals and even taxes and tips where appropriate. Our ‘optional extras’ are based on special-interest activities that don’t always appeal to everyone, meaning they’re truly optional.

Tipping Made Easy

We have developed a program for all destinations where tipping is customary. This simple system sees us collect tips at the time of booking which are included in the tour price. We then pass these tips to our local staff, and they take care of all the tipping. Easy!

Permits

Experience the ultimate stress-free holiday with us. Our tours, as well as our independent and extension packages, include all national park entrance fees and permits. This covers activities such as gorilla and golden monkey tracking. With everything taken care of, you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying unforgettable African moments.

Transportation

We like mixing up transportation to make your holiday truly special. Enjoy safari vehicles, 4WDs, scenic flights, and relaxing river cruises; it’s all part of our exceptional journey, a refreshing change from standard coach tours.

Special experiences allow us to dig deeper and really connect with the places and cultures we visit. They’re the types of things you can’t do on your own or with a large group. In short, they are what set our small group tours apart – fun, immersive and memorable.
