For the tub, builder Tim Clark made a timber frame, sealed and tiled it and added an arched splashback. A mixer with hose is great for washing pets and large items (make sure you never leave your furry friend unattended).

Curved shelves made from timber offcuts provide extra storage space. “It was also a bit of a necessity to soften that corner when you enter the room, and it relates to the curves and the arches elsewhere,” says Jono.

Bench mark

A generous timber benchtop has opened up a whole new area for folding and sorting. Plus, a slim 300mm cabinet between the appliances gives easy access to detergents and other laundry necessities.

Dog house

Jono designed this clever space, made from MDF, as a nook for the family pooch. “The word I’ve been using is ‘bark-itecture’,” he says. “But this can be easily used for laundry baskets and other storage.”
