Pechanga resort & casino- Thursday, march 22nd

. Join us as we travel down to Temecula and enjoy a day of gaming, laughs and great food. Pechanga Resort and Casino is home to California’s largest gaming floor with a bevy of slots, table games, poker rooms and high limit gaming areas. Pechanga is also home to a 700 seat Bingo Theater! As you pull yourself away from the slots, check out some of the fine cuisine that Pechanga has to offer. A The Ronald Reagan Library is soon to be home to the most comprehensive exhibition of Genghis Khan and his treasures! Don’t miss as this is the exhibits only Southern California stop on an international tour that has drawn more than a million visitors. What do pants, the pony express, cannons, paper money, skis, violins, bakhlava and “hooray!” have in common? Answer: Genghis Khan introduced them all to the West. Not Genghis the brutal barbarian of Western history books, but Genghis the great civilizer, law-maker, and democratizer, whose empire brought each of these inventions to the West. We will enjoy this wonderful exhibit and also have time to view what the rest of the informational library has to offer. Be sure to stop into the café for lunch, bring $ for the gift shops and be sure to wear comfortable shoes as well.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is a fifty-acre dazzling rainbow of beautiful ranunculus flowers set on a hillside overlooking the striking Carlsbad, California coastline. Here we will enjoy a tractor driven wagon ride throughout the fields and take a look at the 1500 square foot greenhouse filled with world famous Ecke poinsettias. Located in North San Diego County, a region with a rich history of growing flowers that dates back to the 1940’s. The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch is located less that half-mile from the ocean and just around the corner the Carlsbad premium outlets. We will spend a portion of our day at the outlets where folks can check out their favorite stores, grab lunch at a large selection of eateries or just take in the breath taking sight of the Pacific Ocean. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring $ for shopping and lunch. 3

Bowers museum- Wednesday may 23rd

Please join us as we head down to Orange County and visit the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. On May 23rd we will be treated to a new exhibit; AMERICAN VISIONARY: JOHN F. KENNEDY’S LIFE AND TIMES. No single politician was photographed more than JFK- from his direct congressional bid as a decorated war hero in 1948, to his fairytale marriage to Jacqueline Bourview in 1953 to his run for the White House, his role as commander-in-Chief, his commitment to the arts, his travels around the world, and the final tragedy in Dallas. American Visionary captures the dramatic scope of Kennedy’s life through the presentation of over 70 photographs and is the most exhaustively researched collections of Kennedy photos ever assembled. Individuals who do not wish to purchase a “Discount BSAC card” will be enrolled and receive an Activity Card (“AC”) instead. These AC cards are free, however, you will be required to pay full price of each program or class. At this time, our eTrak Plus system requires all participants to have cards. As with our previous cards, they are renewed each calendar year. With the BSAC card you can: Register online for all Park & Recreation classes and more. Receive a 2017 BSAC Discount Directory; Use your credit card, cash or check to purchase a card, or sign up for a class or day trip. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY Please note: there is a $10.00 refund administration fee. It is the City of Burbank's goal to provide quality programs. In the event that a participant is unable to participate in a trip, a refund will be granted if the following guidelines are met: Notification of cancellation must be given to Travel Office staff a minimum of one (1) week prior to the scheduled trip. Notification given less than one (1) week prior to the date of departure will result in no refund unless the Travel Office can replace you from the waiting list. No refunds will be issued for cancellations or no-shows on the day of the trip. In the event a trip is cancelled by the Joslyn Center, Burbank Parks and Recreation Department, a full refund will be issued. Refunds issued by check will take between 3-6 weeks to be received in the mail. Refunds issued by Credit Card Transactions will take between 3-10 days.
