Simiolus It has not been easy to keep our journal running during the pandemic, with libraries and institutions closed. But so far we have managed. Please remember that Simiolus is a non-profit publication, which owes its survival from vol. 10 (1980) onward to the dedication of a few devoted volunteers. Simiolus has contributed thousands of pages to the history of Netherlandish art, and no serious student in the field can afford to ignore them. But we can always do better, and to do so, we need you. We receive good copy, but more is always welcome. Well over half of our subscribers are institutional, but this is hardly enough to pay for the cost of translation and production of our journal. vi

Netherlands quarterly for the history of art The first issue of volume 43 (2021) will contain contributions from Italy, Germany, Russia, Flanders and the Netherlands. Once published, it will be sent to subscribers as far apart as San Francisco and Beijng. We need more of them, however, unless we raise the price of our subscriptions. So persuade your librarian to take out a subscription now, or pick one up yourself! Institutions pay € 100 a year, individuals pay € 60. Over 300 pages a year on the history of Netherlandish art! Visit our site at Simiolus.nl for the conditions of subscription and information on how to advertise, where to send your copy and how to order backsets.
