Burnaby RCMP and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) are investigating Burnaby’s first homicide of the year. On Tuesday night, just before 9 p.m.,
Mounties were called to the 6500 block of Telford Avenue to a two-storey walkup after a report of a “fight in progress,” according to a Burnaby RCMP press release. Police found a man in medical distress. Despite attempts to revive him, he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Jwada Hedar-Kadhim of Burnaby. “It is early in the investigation, but it does not appear to be a random act,” states the release. The scene will be cordoned off for a “significant amount of time,” according
