October 2017 - March 2018 The ‘Reaching New Levels’ Coaching Programme in association with The Performance Lab, provides opportunities for coaches, volunteers, leaders and officials to attain additional and/or new qualifications.

IFA Level 1

1st 8th & 15th October Mid Ulster Sports Arena From: 9am – 5pm Book via: www.irishifa.com Cost: £220.00

Swim Ulster Safeguarding

11th October Meadowbank Sports Arena From: 6.30pm – 9.30pm Book via: www.swimulster.net Cost: £18 This workshop aims to raise awareness of Child Protection issues in sport; it is particularly recommended for Coaches, Volunteers Leaders, Administrators and Officials.

First Aid

23rd & 24th October Cookstown Leisure Centre From: 6.30pm – 9.30pm Cost: £20 Book via: attached form. By the end of this course candidates will be aware of the following: • • •

Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)

Wounds and bleeding Shock Minor injuries Choking Preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions using the use of available equipment

A First Aid Kit will be given to all those completing the course.

IFA Futsal Level 1

5th 12th & 19th November Mid Ulster Sports Arena From: 9am-5pm Book via: www.irishfa.com Cost: £200.00 The aim of this course is to provide candidates with an understanding of the techniques and skills related to the game of Futsal.

Disability Sport NI Inclusive Skills

7th November Mid Ulster Sports Arena From: 6.30pm – 9.30pm Cost: £30 Book via: attached form This three hour course provides participants with the knowledge and resources required to run a series of warm up activities, core skills sessions and fun games for disabled and non-disabled children aged 5 years old and over.

Defibrillator Training (A.E.D) 13th November Dungannon Leisure Centre From: 6.30pm – 9.30pm Cost: £10 Book via: attached form

This course teaches the essential skills that an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operator needs and gives students the confidence to know what to do in an emergency.

Coaching Children Aged 5-12 years

14th November Mid Ulster Sports Arena From: 6.30pm – 9.30pm

Cost: £10.00 Book via: attached form This workshop will build an understanding that coaching is about much more than just sport. The workshop will provide new tools to incorporate positive youth development into sessions as a specific coaching outcome and not just a consequence – creating a real focus on holistically developing the child.

Athletics NI Leadership in Running Fitness Award 26th November Meadowbank Sports Arena From: 9.00am – 5.00pm Cost: £100.00 Book via: www.athleticsni.org

The Leadership in Running Fitness Award will prepare you to provide a safe and enjoyable running experience for participants over the age of 12. You will be licensed and insured to lead groups of adults in running activities taking place away from your club premises. If working with participants between 12-18 years old you will need to work under the supervision of a licensed coach.


Disability Sport NI Intro to Autism & Sports Coaching 28th November Mid Ulster Sports Arena From: 6.30pm – 9.30pm Cost: £20 Book via: attached form This three hour course guides participants through a number of activities focusing on strategies to make coaching session inclusive for participants with Autism.

Having a realistic and clear understanding of the likely sustainable income your club can generate is a vital ingredient of good financial management. This course will cover alternative ways of generating sustainable income from a variety of sources including membership fees; sponsorship; fundraising; commercial partnerships; and grant funding.

Workshop attendees will learn about training load management, understand the potential causes of running injury, appreciate the benefits of injury prevention and take away exercises and drills that will help to maintain the health and performance of their athletes.
