Turkey is a country where natural disasters occur frequently and also a country of earthquakes, and it is very important for people to be aware of this issue. Since there is no structure around this location to receive support in case of emergency, a design for this function has been proposed. The circulation axis are formed to be compatible with topography. In this concept, 3 axes are designed.
The main transport entrance is taken from the west road because it is easier to access in an emergency. The pedestrian entrance is taken from the north direction where the pedestrian density and public transport station are located. An alternative transport axis is designed in the east to facilitate vehicle circulation and emergency exits. As a result of these stages, 4 zones were formed. Four different functions in the requirement program are located in these different zones. (inspired by land analysis and adapted to the terrain) The middle area where the forms and paths intersect is functionalized as a square to strengthen circulation integrity.

Whispers in the traces of memories
bachelor I 7th semester, 2018 project area I Trabzon, Besikduzu ITurkey
coordinated by I Asu Besgen
softwares I - (it is a hand-drawn project)
The project area has been an educational area throughout the history and is an area where highschoolsarestillpresent.Inthepast, ithosted educational complexes within the scope of the Village Institutes Project, which is one of the most powerful educational systems of the state.Thisregionofthecityhas becomeaplace of education and training in the city’s memory. During the project design phase, it was understood from the field visits and analyzes that the
land had accumulated over the years and the ruins of the building wanted to tell us something. Today, when we visit there, the traces of several buildings and practice workshops from the old schools still remain. The museum in the site has many memories of this old school. Some of the photos found here are torn and whispering to us. The project was inspired by these inferences. Memories, traces, whispers and contrasts are the four most important concepts. Public spaces should establish direct connections with users andallowthemtowork. This“ArtCampus”should educate people. It should strengthen intergenerational communication by bringing together peoplefromdifferentagegroups.Inthiscontext, it strengthens social and cultural sustainability.

Twocountries,twocities,twosites-oneriver:FormerCustoms yard areas inStrasbourg and Kehl The two cities of Strasbourg and Kehl meet at the border between France and Germany - separated and connected by the river Rhine. The area has been under the influence of many civilizations over time. France, Germa-
ny and Austria have taken the city under their influence from time to time. Hence, the city has so many layers. One of the layer is water because it played a big role in shaping the two cities. In this project, water played a big role while we were designing our conceptual idea. Water shaped the city and the city shaped the water. The concept phase of this project was developed togetherwiththeSevcanPazi.IworkedinKehl, the German sideof theproject,Sevcan Paziworked in Strasbourg, theFrenchside.Onlytheprojectdeveloped in (by me) Kehl is described in this portfolio.
