THE PATH TO LONGEVITY

SSR Mining, a free cash flow focussed intermediate gold company, owns four producing assets, along with a global pipeline of high-quality development and exploration assets.

2 Issue 116 · Business Enquirer Magazine

In 2021, between the Çöpler mine, Turkey; Marigold, US; Seabee, Canada; and Puna, Argentina, SSR Mining produced over 794,000 gold-equivalent ounces.

Now, with a focus on operational excellence and mining for margin, the business has plans to leverage its strong balance sheet and its proven track record of free cash flow generation as a foundation to organically fund growth.

Long Life Anticipated for SSR Mining Assets

SSR Mining’s diversified asset portfolio consists of high margin, long-life assets along several of the world’s most prolific precious metal districts.

The Çöpler mine asset is found in the Tethyan belt in Turkey, a country

where the business also has assets in development and exploration.

The asset has been operating since 2010, with a current estimated life cycle of over 20 years and the potential for mine life extension.

As of December 2022, SSR Mining reported Proven and Probable Mineral Reserves of 47.7 million tonnes at an average grade of 2.11 g/t or 3.2 million ounces of contained gold, excluding stockpiles.

In addition to the gold in the known Mineral Reserves, SSR Mining are undertaking both in-pit and near-mine exploration programs to identify additional potential, as well as continuing to drill regionally to identify additional prospects for future growth.

Across the Atlantic, the mining firm has created a substantial footprint in The Americas, with three assets in production, and a further three in development (San Luis, Peru and Pitarrilla NSR, Mexico) and exploration (Canada).

Its asset in the USA, the Marigold mine, is situated along the Battle MountainEureka trend in Nevada.

Steeped in history, Marigold has been producing since 1989, and was acquired by SSR Mining in April 2014. It is believed to have a further eight years of mine life to 2032, and gold production through to 2038, with the potential for mine life extension.

The mine is a large run-of-mine heap leach operation with several open pits, waste rock stockpiles, leach pads, a carbon absorption facility, and a carbon processing and gold refining facility.

Currently, the mine utilises a fleet of 290-tonne haul trucks and three loading units. The gold doré bars produced at the mine are shipped to a third party refinery. Much like its operations in Turkey, near-mine exploration in Nevada is ongoing, with a focus on higher-grade oxides, resource expansion and reserve conversion.

Further north can be found SSR Mining’s producing asset in Canada, the Seabee mine, which is based along the TransHudson Corridor in Saskatchewan.

Acquired by SSR Mining in 2016, the Seabee mine has been in continuous commercial production since 2014.

In April 2022, SSR Mining expanded its existing exploration platform at Seabee through the acquisition of Taiga Gold. In the same year, the mine report record production levels, with an output of 136,125 ounces of gold

The company’s properties in Saskatchewan now cover an area of approximately 131,150 hectares Seabee has successfully replaced gold

reserves over the mine’s 30 year operating life, and current exploration programs are designed to support

Seabee’s continuation into the next decade. Finally, in South America, SSR Mining owns the Puna mine, which can be found along the Bolivian silver belt in Jujuy, Argentina.

Puna, which is 100% owned by SSR Mining, comprises the Chinchillas mine and the Pirquitas property, which includes the Pirquitas processing facilities.

The Chinchillas mine is a silver-lead-zinc deposit, which achieved commercial production in December 2018. It aims to supply ore to the Pirquitas processing facilities (which has been in commercial production since 2009) over an 8-year active mining period.

The 2021 SK1300 Technical Report Summary life of mine plan for Puna featured 5 years of mining to 2026 including average annual production of 7.0 million ounces of silver over the first 5 years.

Like SSR Mining’s other assets, the puna operation features opportunities for mine life extension, including the potential for in-pit Mineral Reserve and Resource growth at the Chinchillas pit, potential for near-mine Mineral Reserve and Resource growth at the Cortaderas target, and greenfield exploration targeting across the regional Puna land package.

Safe For Life

SSR Mining is on a mission to create value & leave a legacy through responsible and sustainable operations.

One strategy it has implemented is its “Safe For Life” mining safety program.

The program emphasises balancing the human and technical aspects of safety: blending leadership behaviours with traditional management activities to create a safe, productive culture.

“Our ultimate goal is to achieve “safe for

life” and deliver safe production every day,” says SSR Mining’s website.

water strategy to ensure water is treated as a vital resource that is critical to its operations and communities. In the same year, it reported a company-wide water reuse and recycling rate of 89%.

In addition, the SSR Mining is committed to innovation and understanding how new technologies can help it to operate more efficiently, maximising its longevity.
