Pleasant summers and warm winters make for an environment fit for year-round training. Excellent facilities, expert sports science capabilities and dedicated sport-friendly accommodation make training in our city effective and enjoyable. Australia’s best training location “ The Gold Coast is our number one Asia Pacific training destination.” raeme Thompson – England Rugby G League World Cup Team Manager

Gold Coast City is widely acknowledged as one of the best sports training locations in the world. Fabulous weather, superb facilities, sports science specialists and a welcoming local community combine to make the region ideal for sports training. Queensland and interstate sporting teams have enjoyed the benefits of training on the Gold Coast for many years, but the 2000 Sydney Olympics opened the doors for teams from around the world. More than 1300 athletes from 15 countries trained in the city during the lead up to the games. Since then a growing number of sporting teams have flocked to the Gold Coast time and again. World-class training venues are within minutes of two international airports. As well as boasting Olympic-standard swimming pools and athletics facilities, the Gold Coast also offers incredible cross-training locations. Sporting teams can make use of 55 kilometres of sandy beaches with a 36-kilometre network of pathways, stretching from the Gold Coast Seaway in the north, to the Point Danger Lighthouse in the south. Alternatively, teams can head to the Hinterland and train on several leafy rainforest tracks. Great weather means sporting teams are able to train outdoors more often. The region receives an average of 10 hours’ sunshine a day for approximately 300 days a year.
