Swetang Sinha,

Sun Multinational Group CEO:

A Transformative Leader

Multinational Business groups represent an alternative to the monolithic single-entity model. It was found that they can manage a portfolio of inventiveness better than multidivisional companies because of how they are structured. Taking part in many different businesses can help a conglomerate company diversify the risks modelled by being in a single market. Doing so may also help the parent company lower total operating costs and require fewer resources.

Today Business Touch Magazine has one such conglomerate with multiple business interests across the globe, Sun Multinational DMCC. It has its headquarters based in Dubai, UAE. Swetang Sinha, the Group CEO of Sun Multinational, has a very remarkable thought-

Building the brand has been achieved by making a human impact. We are remembered for how we make people feel. This is true of ourselves as it is of our business. I go back to my response about our strategies. The vehicle to grow a brand is making a difference through products and services.

For instance, our duty-free shops are not just about reaching the bottom line of products for people in transit. We deliberate effort to provide those products which make a difference in our customer base.”

We live in an increasingly selfish world. In this complex world, brands search for the politically correct as opposed to that which is right. If we can build a business willing to put the needs of its people and its communities as paramount, we will have set ourselves apart. This goes very true when we talk about Sun Multinational.

ABOUT SWETANG SINHA, GROUP CEO OF SUN MULTINATIONAL Before joining Sun Multinational Corporation, Swetang Sinha worked in diverse roles that collectively prepared him for the task ahead. Immediately before joining Sun Multinational Corporation, he was the business development executive at Pearson Education. Pearson is an international media company with interests in education and reputable imprints that feature Longman, and Merril Education, among others. He also had the privilege of serving as Global Brand Manager for a United States Multinational, Beckett Media.

He is a beneficiary of the generosity and kindness of the group Chairman, KP Damji, and the Group Managing director Mr Rahul Sood. These impeccable businessmen discovered and mentored him from the early stages of his career, first as the Global brand and marketing manager in 2012, then as the General Manager in 2018, ultimately leading up to his current position.

Swetang Sinha’s father, Dr Sujit Sinha, is his principal source of human wisdom. He imparted many

12www.businesstouchmagazine.com

gems of wisdom to him, yet one piece of advice that stands out was the source of wealth and every desire ever pursued. Swetang’s father has always believed that wealth lies in people. Though seemingly simplistic, this precious counsel resonates in almost every facet of life. Everyone in business is actually in the business of people. We sell to people, convince people to patronise services and claim our payments from people. Using this gem, Swetang has remembered never to neglect people.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH PICKED BY SWETANG SINHA

A statement that has almost become a cliche is that opportunities are hidden in problems. Yet, the information is undoubtedly a truism. The mineral sectors of so many emerging economies lose significant value through a lack of beneficiation, and value addition is a problem identified as an opportunity. This is why a substantial aspect of Swetang Sinha’s business philosophy lies in creating value for local communities and host nations of businesses. This value creation is the opposite of the norm, which often includes plundering host states by multinational corporations.

“Our approach is different. Our approach draws from the philosophy propounded by Sir Richard Branson in his seminal book, “Screw Business as usual.” There is immense opportunity to do business differently to empower communities. “

– Swetang Sinha

In some cases, businesses are domiciled in nations perceived to house so much economic turmoil. The starting point for Sun Multinational was inevitable to instil confidence in stakeholders that cannot succumb to environments. Secondly, the idea was to be deliberate about value addition. According to Swetang, innovation is what separates good businesses from great businesses. It is the catalyst of disruption and lies at the center of what he believes in. Sun Multinational ensures they stay on top of industry developments by striking a synergy between various business units. Sun Multinational has efficient executors, as an idea is worthless if not executed. Therefore, Sun Multinational excels at unprecedented, unrelenting execution.

MOST OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT OF SWETANG SINHA

“I view the concept of achievement as being separate from the concept of matter. Unlike matter, the achievement is best measured by impact. In this vein, my best achievement so far has been to lead and raise a healthy family despite a seemingly impossible schedule wherein you have to cater to so many different time zones. Family is what remains when we no longer have the strength to rummage around the world. Secondly, and more aligned with my role as Group Chief Executive Officer, my greatest achievement has been to foster a culture of loyalty, freedom, and selflessness in our places of work.”

LEADERSHIP STYLE AND COMPANY CULTURE

Swetang Sinha finds himself as a “transformative leader.” He believes in setting an example and improving the people working with him. He has learned the value of this leadership style first-hand from the eminent Professor Dr Kumra at IIM Lucknow. Swetang was impressed with this selfless leadership style and demonstrated how it unlocks the best in people.

Culture is an essential aspect of any organisation. Swetang believes people spend most of their adult lives at work. It would be a tragedy if all of this time were spent in a depressing and stressful atmosphere. The workplace must therefore be conducive to shared work, free from abuse, and foster an atmosphere that engenders productivity. This is the role of culture. Swetang strives to foster a culture of freedom and open communication through transformative leadership.

SOCIAL SERVICES SERVED BY SUN MULTINATIONAL

Sun Multinational has ensured that the living standards of the local communities are improved through apprenticeship programs. The graduates from our apprentice programs are usually given priority for employment opportunities. The company also runs a scholarship and bursary program which caters for the education of indigent and underprivileged children from primary to tertiary education. On graduation, the students are assimilated into the apprentice program as well.

The company also endeavours always to provide local communities with employment in its operations. Visits to Masai cultural villages are offered to tourists by Masai driver guides from the communities and towns around in partnership with SAH. SAH has also successfully embraced a tree-planting program to replace the few lost trees around the lodge. These trees act as windbreakers and as a habitat for various bird species. To sum up, the ecosystem around has been protected.

His mother stayed at home to raise him while his father built hospitals and schools in his capacity as a construction manager. His family lived without running water and avoided using the phone out of concern that their conversations would be monitored by the authorities. When Jan was 16 years old, he moved to the United States from Europe with his mother and grandmother. Jan went to school and washed floors at a supermarket shop in California while her mother worked as a babysitter.

Unfortunately, five years after Jan and his mother settled, his father grew sick and passed away; he never got to reunite with his family. It was just three years after Jan’s father passed away that Jan’s mother was also diagnosed with cancer and passed away. He learned network engineering on his own, then proceeded to San Jose State University to major in CS and math while simultaneously being active in w00w00-themed hacker forums on the internet (pronounced whoo-whoo).

Career He spent the following two years teaching himself computer networking and was then prepared to take on his next task. The experience encouraged

him to enrol at San Jose State University and pursue his interest in computer programming. He also started working for Ernst & Young as a security tester. Jan was given the chance of a lifetime when Yahoo signed him on as an Infrastructure Engineer after he had been working there for around six months. At the time, Jan Koum was a full-time student at San Jose State.

For Jan, Yahoo! had turned into a never-ending source of ennui. At the age of 31, he decided to leave Yahoo! and travel the globe with a friend who had also just left the company. They both applied for employment at Facebook, but were ultimately unsuccessful. A full two years later, Jan finally made the investment on an iPhone. He saw the potential in the Software Store and promptly set out to develop a new software that would streamline communication and collaboration. Jan Koum was on the point of quitting up because he couldn’t get it to work.

Jan Koum persisted in his inventiveness for a little more, and at the age of 33, he and his former Yahoo! coworker Brian Acton launched WhatsApp. In 2014, it had 400 million users throughout the globe, and its owner chose to sell it to Facebook for $19 billion.

16www.businesstouchmagazine.com

Interesting Facts

Even before Jan established the WhatsApp server, his family had financial difficulties upon arriving in the United States. His mother was a babysitter, and Jan had to clean houses to help support the family.

If you believe you need a degree from Harvard to create ground-breaking technology, you’re wrong. You don’t have to go to college to make a difference in the world. Jan Koum is a selftaught coding guru.

In 2007, Jan made the decision to leave Yahoo and begin a yearlong trip across the globe. Likely, he did this to rediscover himself and make a fresh start. He tried his luck at Facebook and Twitter, but both companies turned him down.

When 2005 rolled around, Jan Koum had amassed a billion dollars in wealth. When he sold his mobile app to Facebook, he raked in a stunning $22 billion. Mark Zuckerberg, WhatsApp’s current owner, also owns Facebook, which Jan started.

20 Most Eminent Business COONS TO LOOK IN 2022T

Astonishing Disposition Mihir Pershad Founder & CEO of Umami Meats

Years of industrialisation and human activity have led to pollution of the ecosphere’s oceans and seas meaning that wild fish and shellfish are exposed to pollutants like heavy metals and microplastics. The level of contamination in wild fish is largely influenced by their diet. While it is not possible to regulate the diet of wild fish and while levels of impurities fluctuate largely by geographical region, the levels of feed contaminants in cultivated fish can be closely checked and measured. Business Touch Magazine has one such well-reputed company Umami Meats Pte Ltd. characterized to its readers.

ABOUT UMAMI MEATS

Umami Meats, are pioneering cultivated, ‘not caught’ seafood by crafting delicious, nutritious, and affordable cultivated fish that is better for humanoid health, oceans, and a hale and hearty future. The company is dedicated to regenerating oceans and the planet by enabling consumers to relish their fish and eat it too, starting with IUCN Red Listed species that are difficult to farm and that are being determined extinct by human consumption. Umami Meats cultivated seafood production system enables a stable, resilient, local supply of seafood free from mercury, antibiotics, microplastics, and ocean pollutants.

Seafood

is a healthy choice for individuals of all ages— growing children, pregnant women, active adults, and the elderly. In particular, fish is a brilliant source of lean, high-quality easily digested protein; a 3.5-ounce serving offers almost half of an adult’s day-to-day protein needs for only 100 to 200 calories. Seafood is also low in saturated fat and sodium, is a rich source of many indispensable vitamins and minerals, and is one of the rare foods that contain long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, which have many valuable health properties and are vital for the development of the nervous system and retina. Seafood comprises fish such as catfish, salmon, tuna, trout and tilapia, and shellfish such as shrimp, crab, and oysters.

Fish and seafood are a significant part of a healthy diet, yet swelling demands and overfishing in many parts of the world have led to rapid declines of marine fish stocks worldwide. Cultivated fish is a means of meeting demand while reducing pressure on wild fish stocks by growing fish from cells rather than having to catch fish from the ocean. The benefits of cultivated fish have been widely championed by many parts of the world. With good practices, cultivated fish is a safe, sustainable and nutritious source of seafood that can relieve the burden on overfished seafood stocks. Cultivated fish is also often fresher at the time of purchase and processing.

Umami Meats’ B2B platform approach is not only unique in the cultivated seafood space but it enables the industry to transition rapidly to producing cultivated fish. Further, their focus on endangered species and those that cannot be produced sustainably by other means is a deliberate choice that they made because these species are by now facing supply shortages and are at significant risk of being driven extinct by human consumption unless the company helped to develop alternative production methods.

In an early-stage Umami Meats, continued to innovate and improve upon the state-of-the-art which remains critical till now and will remain relevant in the years ahead. It is believed that there are more years of rapid development ahead before the cultivated protein industry starts to mature. The company’s B2B strategy enables them to focus on continuous process and input improvement that they believe will help their customers to remain at the forefront in the years ahead.

Key suppliers of Umami Meats include companies that produce cell culture media, bioreactors, and other critical instruments and feed stocks for cultivated seafood production. As a B2B company that has aspirations to scale rapidly around the world, developing strong

18www.businesstouchmagazine.com
Mihir Pershad | Founder & CEO of Umami Meats

relationships with suppliers and co-development partners is a critical aspect of Umami Meats’ strategy. They aim to build strong relationships by bringing these partners along with them on the journey of developing the product and providing unparalleled transparency to partners every step of the way.

ABOUT FOUNDER & CEO OF UMAMI MEATS, MIHIR PERSHAD

After completing his graduation with a degree in biochem istry from the University of North Carolina, Mihir Per shad joined a venture studio called Early Charm Ventures. There, he led IP evaluation and in-licensing, new compa ny formation, and capital raises for the new ventures. He helped build several businesses serving the aquaculture sector, from on-farm disease diagnostics and oral vaccines to feed management tools and learned about the challenges facing aquaculture in the decades ahead.

After building companies serving the aquaculture industry for 3+ years, Mihir recognized that significant changes were required if we are to feed 10 billion people by 2050 while also dealing with the impacts of climate change and decreasing wild catch. He decided to launch a company to address such a challenge because he had seen the supply chain and production problems first-hand and believed the insights gained from his experience would assist to build the kind of company that could help transform the industry for the coming century.

MIHIR PERSHAD SAYS –

“Our goal is to build an ingredient brand like “Intel inside” that enables consumers to purchase with confidence knowing that they’re buying a quality product when it’s based on our process and our inputs even when they’re buying in different countries or in new product categories.”

The best part of his job according to Mihir Pershad is working with people who are deeply passionate about fashioning a more sustainable world while solving critical challenges that will help put food on the table for billions of people in the near future and for many years to come. He feels incredibly privileged to work with such brilliant and dedicated individuals to solve high-impact problems while assisting to create a more sustainable future for humanity.

LEADERSHIP STYLE OF MIHIR PERSHAD

Like building a world-class athletic team, Mihir Pershad believes that building a great company requires leaders who know their role is that of coach and not of player. The coach’s job is to bring world-class people together, to create a shared vision, build a strategy to make the most of their

collective strengths, and to then give them the freedom to go on the pitch and execute, make their own judgement calls, and adapt to changes that strategy cannot predict.

UMAMI MEATS MISSION Mission - To serve as a gateway for evolution that builds on our deep oceanic heritage to create a healthier, more sustainable and flavourful future for all.

Early on, our strategy shifted from an input provider to a platform approach because we realized that our most interesting prospective consumers don’t know much about cell culture, especially in fish. Rather than selling individual components like cell lines or growth media, Umami Meats is now developing a more holistic plugand-play platform that can enable traditional suppliers to adopt a cultivated production line rapidly and with a minimum of cell culture expertise. This new approach has required a substantial shift in thinking, as Umami Meats is now developing with food producers in mind rather than companies with significant biotechnology expertise.

GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS AND FUTURE PLANS OF UMAMI MEATS

So far, Umami Meats had multiple significant accomplishments both on the technical and commercial sides. They have been able to establish the first stem cells from fish that can produce muscle, fat, and connective tissue from one stem cell type. They’ve also developed a feedstock for the cells that is low-cost, sustainable, and 100% animal component-free. Commercially, they have signed engagements with their first strategic partners who along with Umami will bring initial products to market and support scaling up production.

Umami Meats’ key areas of focus will be scaling the process from the benchtop to the pilot facility, developing the first commercial products in collaboration with their strategic partners, building their first pilot plant, and pursuing regulatory approval in Singapore and other key global markets.

A PIECE OF ADVICE

An outstanding piece of advice Mihir Pershad received which helped him to move on this path of success is that“Most people regret the opportunities they didn’t take rather than the ones they did that didn’t work out. As an entrepreneur, it helps me to remember that sometimes playing it too safe can be a risk in itself and that choosing not to decide is a choice as well. Making big bets with conviction and executing at break-neck speed is the one major advantage that start-ups have” and this advice has helped him to keep focus even when the decisions appeared daunting.

Today Business Touch Magazine has one such amazing supply chain and process consulting company, Synergeze Consultants Pvt Ltd. which has a range of services to be offered to the industry to get benefited from.

Execution-based consulting - In the domain of Logistics (incl EXIM) and Supply Chain whereby the clients can offload all their dayto-day operations to Synergeze and in that way experience the best of the services that can improve the efficiency of their operations. A true value-for-money scheme.

People and Process Alignment – In the most conservative scenarios “processes” are treated disjointedly in the organisation and “people” separately. Whereas Synergeze strongly believes that people and processes need to be aligned if the processes are to deliver what they are designed for. Nevertheless, the best of the processes also does not perform if the people who execute the processes are not associated with each other.

Corporate Training with Training Mechanix – Synergeze offers a great solution to industries whereby the end-to-end Learning and Development cycle can be completely accompanied and handled by them. Through their trusted partners who are patented and experts in Vedic-based Psychology and in-house designed training mechanism, they ensure that skill gap assessment is backed up with the actions to fulfilling the gaps and then evaluate the results to confirm whether what was promised is delivered.

GUNJAN CHOUDHARY Founder & Director Synergeze Consultants Pvt. Ltd 24www.businesstouchmagazine.com

ABOUT FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF SYNERGEZE GUNJAN CHOUDHARY (GC)

A very strong passion to plug the gaps in the industry and provide an execution-based consulting model in the domain of Supply Chain and Logistics led GC to the start of his entrepreneurial journey. According to GC if challenges are to be counted then the biggest challenge for them was the awareness among the industry to consider the supply chain as the enabler in the overall growth of the organisation and also that people are the real enablers for any process or strategy to deliver what was promised.

GC SAYS,

“My basic philosophy of life has been - Love what you do and do what you love. Having said that the satisfaction which I get after addressing the pain areas of our clients and seeing them relieved and experiencing the best of the services is something that pushes all of us at Synergeze to keep improving and delivering on all that we promise.”

The investment done on people should not only be counted as training man-days but as really empowering them to perform beyond anticipation. Fashioning and enhancing that awareness and making that realization worthwhile has remained and will remain to be the major challenge. GC is an accomplished serial entrepreneur, consultant, networker, advisor and speaker. After having spent 2 decades in the industry across the hierarchy in the domain of Supply Chain and Logistics (from leading the corporate logistics vertical of Ashok Leyland to being the head of logistics and strategy for Tata Motors), started his entrepreneurial journey with Synergeze Consultants Pvt Ltd.

This was followed by founding some more companies like Impower Virtual Knowledge Hub LLP, Classicus Décor Pvt Ltd, and Perspicere - The Revolving Perspective Foundation (section 8 company). Apart from these businesses he is on the Advisory Board of SSK Emart Pvt Ltd and Transcento Décor and is associated with many educational institutes for grooming the next generation for transformation from Campus to Corporate.

WHEN ASKED ABOUT THE BRAND GC SAID, WHAT SETS SYNERGEZE APART IN THE MARKETPLACE

One line answer to this –We Promise We Deliver Synergeze unique offerings clubbed with their tagline make them a unique proposition for the world to reach out to them in pursuit of finding end-to-end solutions to their prolonged issues.

Challenges Synergeze faced and overcame

During COVID and after that also, the company witnessed an increased demand for Indian-origin goods across the globe. That was a time when Indian Manufacturers delve deeper into international markets provided, we concentrated focus on the Quality and Delivery of the products. With more Exports and Imports and Foreign companies increasing their base in India, the demand for consulting services is set for an upward trend.

However, when Synergeze looks at the current scenario of EXIM, warehousing and overall supply chain consulting the country was lacking in terms of enough skill-set in the sector. Further to complicate the issue huge MSME bases were hesitant to enter into international markets due to unawareness of the compliances, and credit checks of the foreign partners. Lastly, the best policies rolled out by the government not penetrating deep into the manufacturing base. Added to these challenges is the fact that the service providers in this domain are still highly unstructured and possess very low customer focus.

With the above challenges in mind - Synergeze Consultants has come up with a set of unique execution-based solutions wherein they provide end-to-end solutions mostly to manufacturers and trading companies. They bridge the gap by taking care of both aspects in terms of ensuring delivery and compliance from the client’s side and assured service levels and customer focus from the service provider’s perspective.

LEADERSHIP STYLE AND COMPANY CULTURE AT SYNERGEZE

Inclusive leadership ensuring participation at all levels of the organisation and yet ensuring that the culture and soul of the organisation remain intact through authority is not only the need but is inseparable in today’s terms. Any one aspect missing would mean either a dictatorship model or a model which dilutes itself with every passing day.

The best culture is remaining true to one’s self and the purpose, and at Synergeze the realization of the purpose and its reflection in all that they do is the key. After that realization, there actually is no need to focus on any other aspect of developing the culture knowingly. Rather once this is done the rest starts falling in place automatically.

FUTURE PLANS

Crossing boundaries and being global is the focus that Synergeze has taken up for the mediumterm goal. Synergeze is already consulting for companies in their establishments in South

Asia and is in advanced talks with companies from Africa. Now they are looking forward to increasing their presence in other continents and thus moving towards converting themselves into a Global Brand.

A MESSAGE BY GC

“Remain true to yourself and do what you love and don’t worry about the risk and consequences as nothing and nobody is indispensable and nothing can wipe you out till it’s the time for your exit. Always remember that!”

8 Simple Lifestyle Changes for Healthy, Vibrant Skin

The skin is a remarkable organ that serves as a protective coating against a variety of threats. A healthy skin tone, texture, and comfort level are all signs of skin that is functioning optimally. Skin that is in good condition usually has a luminous quality to it.

Cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing using products formulated for your skin type are essential to maintaining healthy skin, say dermatologists. It’s true that many individuals use these items, but many also find that they don’t work as well as they had hoped.

It might be beneficial to take a fresh look at your routine if your skin’s health or appearance has left you dissatisfied. Making some little adjustments to your routine might have a major effect. Consistency will pay off in due time, since the skin’s outer layer is replaced every 28 to 30 days.

26www.businesstouchmagazine.com

Healthy Skin Begins with Healthy Habits

As a multi-tissue organ, skin performs as one unit. The process of replacing dead or damaged skin cells with new ones is a constant in the human body. The shape and size of new skin cells are round and fat. As they go further into the epidermis, they flatten down to create a waterproof barrier. When cells reach the skin’s surface, they are shed at a rate of roughly 40,000 per hour.

Numerous internal and environmental variables, such as food and skincare routine, contribute to overall skin health. In order to maintain healthy skin, you don’t need a 20-step skincare programme. Taking your skin to the next level may be as easy as making a few little adjustments to your routine. Think about the recommendations that follow.

1 Promote Skin Health with a Balanced Diet

The findings of nutritional research demonstrate the link between diet and skin health. In order to maintain healthy skin, scientists have pinpointed the specific vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. The clarity and texture of your skin may change if you eat too many processed foods, according to studies.

Lean protein, colourful veggies, whole grains, fruit, nuts, and heart-healthy fats are all important for glowing skin.

In fact, studies have shown that those who eat healthily have slower skin ageing.

Eggs, avocados, and nuts are rich in the vitamin B vitamin biotin, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables are rich in the vitamin A vitamin, and foods rich in vitamins C and E protect your skin from free-radical damage.

2 Avoid Simple Carbohydrates

Consuming an abundance of refined carbs such as white bread, white rice, and packaged snacks may be detrimental to your skin’s health and look. Sugar, in whatever form it may be consumed, causes an increase in insulin levels. When insulin levels soar, inflammation occurs all throughout the body.

Acne, eczema, and rosacea, among others, are exacerbated by inflammation, and inflammation also contributes to the ageing process. The reason behind this is that glycation, a process triggered by inflammation, destroys collagen in the skin. Collagen is responsible for the elasticity and firmness of your skin. Skin sagging, wrinkles, and fine lines all result from a lack of collagen.

3 Make Hydration a Priority

The benefits of proper hydration extend throughout the body. Water helps keep your blood pressure steady, transports nutrients throughout your body, flushes out waste, and keeps your joints lubricated. Inadequate hydration throughout the day causes the body to draw moisture from the skin, making it dry, rough, and sometimes painful. Many recommendations recommend consuming half your body weight in ounces of liquids each day, although this may not be the optimal amount.

Scientists conducting a study on the effect of water intake on skin health and appearance randomly assigned participants to one of two groups. For 30 days, half of the participants drank an extra two litres of water each day. Results showed that skin benefited greatly from increased moisture. Experiments showed that when people drank more water, it lubricated the skin’s outer layers, reduced friction between skin fibres, and made the skin more elastic.

27www.businesstouchmagazine.com

Try Green Tea

Green tea’s high polyphenol content makes it an effective anti-inflammatory beverage. Green tea has several potential health advantages, including improved cognitive performance, decreased cancer risk, increased fat burning, and improved skin health.

Green tea has been shown to decrease inflammation and protect skin from UV rays. Collagen synthesis and cellular repair are aided by the presence of vitamins B and E. Natural tannins have astringent properties that help eliminate excess oil, prevent breakouts, and speed up cell turnover when applied topically. It has been shown that dried green tea leaves may be used as a mild exfoliation without irritating the skin.

5 Make Time for Exercise

The chance of acquiring cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease is greatly reduced in those who engage in regular physical activity. Getting regular exercise is also crucial for skin health. The more your heart rate rises, the more oxygen and nutrients are able to reach your skin’s cells via dilated blood vessels. Toxins and cell waste products are flushed out of your system more efficiently because to the increased circulation that occurs during exercise.

The improvement in blood flow is merely one advantage. Dermcidin is an antimicrobial peptide released by the immune system during perspiration that acts as the body’s initial line of defence against microorganisms. Your muscles produce IL-15 when your heart rate rises; this protein stimulates the mitochondria of skin cells, making them function more like younger cells. Exercising regularly may make your skin behave, at a microscopic level, up to 25 years younger.

6 Wear UV Protection Daily

You should probably change your strategy if you only put on sunscreen on days when you know you’ll be out in the sun for a long time. Daylight hours, independent of temperature or cloud cover, are subject to exposure to harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation that may cause cataracts, premature skin ageing, and even skin cancer.

Unprotected daily sun exposure in brief bursts may cause skin to thicken, freckle, and darken in spots (melasma). The Skin Cancer Foundation suggests using an SPF 15 broad-spectrum product every day. Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours. Choose a broad-spectrum product with an SPF of 30 or greater if you want to spend the day outside. Switch to a mineral-based sunscreen if the chemical varieties cause skin irritation.

7 Reduce Water Temperature

If you’re one of the many who loves nothing more than a hot shower or a lengthy soak in the tub, you may want to think again about your hightemperature routine. If you leave your skin in hot water for too long, it may dry up and become itchy and irritating. If your skin is over-dried by hot water, you may experience an increase in oil production that may lead to clogged pores.

4
28www.businesstouchmagazine.com

Avoid long, hot showers and cut down on bathing in the tub if you care about your skin’s health. The water is too hot if it causes a reddening of the skin. If you want to keep your skin supple and your natural oil barrier intact, choose a light cleanser that doesn’t include soap or artificial fragrances. The skin benefits more from lukewarm temperatures, and the risk of damaged capillaries is reduced.

8 Moisturize Damp Skin

It’s a common misconception that applying moisturizer will significantly increase the amount of moisture your skin already has. No, moisturizers don’t really function like that. Though most moisturizers include some water in them, their primary function is to rehydrate the skin’s surface by creating a barrier between the skin and the dry air. Moisturizers, therefore, don’t really supply moisture; rather, they prevent moisture from evaporating.

When using a moisturizer, it’s preferable to apply a generous quantity to freshly cleansed, wet skin. Applying moisturizer to wet skin within three minutes of washing it helps lock in moisture after you get out of the shower or wash your face.

You’ll probably get better results from using a cream or oil than a lotion if your skin is really dry. Find an oil-free moisturizer that works for your skin type if it tends to produce excess oil. No matter what your skin type is, it’s important to research the products you want to use. Alcohol, scent, and other irritants are common in skincare products.

Your skin is the biggest organ of your body that would be exposed to the external environment. Make sure you follow these steps and take good care of it.

The organization’s consistent growth has been the result of providing high-value services by operating on a continually improving service model. This has been the driving force behind its long-standing relationships with clients worldwide.

At its roots, architecture exists to generate the physical environment in which people live, but architecture is more than just the built environment, it’s also a part of our culture. It stands as a representation of how we see ourselves, as well as how we see the world.

While the concept of shelter is a fairly simple thing, the style of buildings was formerly shaped by the climate of a particular location, what materials were readily available, as well as the values of the society building them. As the world became more and more connected, the styles evolved, but even in modern construction, there is still an importance in honouring the cultural nuances in the built environment.

Architectural drawings are an extensive part of the design. It is mainly used for construction purposes. The high accuracy and quality of architectural drawings make them essential for construction. Getting precise drafting services right from the initial phase of a construction project can develop the project more systematically. The importance of architectural drawings can definitely not be ignored. It has several advantages that can help all its stakeholders in some way or another. Today we,

Specially designed operating models allow SKETS to execute projects with the utmost quality even in the most challenging and dynamic timelines. SKETS’ operating models incorporate the experience and best practices gained from various engagements completed over the past decade. Quality at SKETS is a way of life. SKETS strives toward attaining the highest quality standards in all its work and it has become its distinguishing attribute. FOUNDER & CEO NIMISHA BANSAL

Before the idea of starting SKETS Studio came along, Nimisha was heading the Global Solutions Design Group of a leading Information Technology firm. She was involved in setting up the process of work-sharing with multiple clients. She along with Mr Shamit who was a senior manager in an international Design firm and was instrumental in streamlining processes for remote design documentation founded SKETS Studio. They were later joined by Mr Neeraj who was heading the Centre of Competence in Business Intelligence.

Nimisha Bansal along with Mr Shamit decided to launch a new business by bringing together their vast experience in architecture and information technology. When SKETS was founded, there was a deficit of firms providing cutting-edge design documentation services for Interior projects, hence SKETS focused on creating a niche in this space. From a technology perspective, Revit had just started to make an appearance on the global architectural scene. SKETS took that as a window of opportunity to adapt to the technology and meet the increasing demand for projects to be completed in Revit. This helped it to become a leader in BIM.

“Quality is not an Act but a habit” – by Aristotle

From the inception of SKETS, the primary focus has been on attention to detail and Quality. The fact that SKETS is still working with clients that they started working with more than 15 years ago is a testimony to the quality that SKETS has been able to maintain. Apart from this, their objective of constantly apprising technologies and processes to keep up with the latest industry trends is another reason they stand out.

LEADERSHIP STYLE OF SKETS

“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself” – by Henry Ford

Nimisha Bansal has believed in the above principle and has thus adopted a collaborative style of leadership. According to her, the culture of the company plays a very distinctive

role in any organization. For her SKETS culture is like a North star that guides everyone towards a common vision and values. The bedrock upon which company culture is developed is its employees. Thus, in order to ensure that our core values are ingrained in our culture, mentoring programs are conducted on a regular basis. She also believes that open and honest feedback plays a pivotal role in building a strong company culture.

UMAR BALWA, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SEALMATIC

Sealmatic Invests in the Future

Over the years, the capabilities of Indian industries have improved dramatically and paved the way for the induction of state-of-the-art technology in all industrial fields, viz oil & gas, refinery, power, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, fertiliser, pump & paper, shipping, aerospace, etc. This has created a huge demand for high-precision mechanical seals in India.

Mechanical seals are designed to prevent the leakage of exotic and hazardous media into the environment. Stricter legislation made it mandatory for industrial plants to employ mechanical seals for all their rotary equipment, thus creating demand for sophisticated mechanical seals for rotary equipment.

The mechanical seal market has been predominantly dominated by international players over the last five decades. The technology for mechanical seals employs high precision designing and production, which was not available in the pre-liberalization period. Way back in the early 1980s, the size of the mechanical seal market was merely Rs 15 crores and today the same has grown exponentially to Rs 1500 crores.

The GDP of India is USD 3 trillion and is one of the strongest and biggest globally. The infrastructure and core industries are growing at a rapid pace and this will be the biggest driver for growth in the mechanical seal industry. What are the Risks of Crowdfunding?

Theuse of crowdsourcing as a way to raise financial backing for creative projects and new businesses is becoming more common. This asset class might also be used by investors who are looking to diversify their portfolios. The fact that it has gained popularity over the course of the last several years does not mean that it is riskfree. This article takes a look at some of the possible drawbacks of crowdfunding and provides some recommendations for avoiding or minimizing those drawbacks. So, let us get started right away!

What Is Crowdfunding, and What Is a Crowdfunding Platform?

Crowdfunding campaigns are often used to generate money to support a variety of endeavours, including companies and other projects. The collective noun for websites that facilitate donations to charity causes is “crowdfunding platforms.” In “peer-to-peer lending,” also known as crowdfunding, borrowers and lenders communicate directly with one another via the use of the internet.

Understanding the 4 Types of Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding may be beneficial for all parties involved in many situations. One kind of crowdsourcing is known as private equity crowdfunding, although there are many other types of crowdfunding as well. There are many subtypes of crowdsourcing, including reward-based crowdfunding, donation-based crowdfunding, and debt-based crowdfunding. Let us have a look at all four instances that have been provided below.

38www.businesstouchmagazine.com

1. Equity Crowdfunding

Equity crowdfunding is a particular subset of crowdsourcing in which investors obtain company shares in exchange for their financial contributions. The phrase “equity crowdfunding” refers to this subset of crowdsourcing. Those that invest money into a company are recognized for their contribution by being given ownership interests in the company. Crowdfunding equity investments is a terrific choice for anyone looking to back a startup business or a small company.

Investing in equity via crowdsourcing carries a significant level of risk. In the event that the firm declares bankruptcy, you run the risk of losing all of your money. Before you put money into equity crowdfunding, you should make sure you fully comprehend the potential downsides.

2. Rewards-based Crowdfunding

One subcategory of crowdsourcing is known as “rewards crowdfunding,” and an example of this would be providing financial support to a project in exchange for some benefit. A reward might be anything, from a simple statement of gratitude to a promotional code for a future purchase; the possibilities are endless. This kind of crowdsourcing is often used by creative types like musicians and artists.

3. Donation-based Crowdfunding

A kind of crowdfunding in which donors do not get any physical products or services in return for their financial support. Crowdfunding initiatives, which depend on monetary contributions, are often used by charitable organizations and other non-profit organizations.

4. Debt Crowdfunding

“Debt crowdfunding” is a kind of crowdsourcing in which investors provide loans to borrowers in exchange for interest on the loans they make. Through the use of debt crowdsourcing, borrowers now have access to an alternative to the conventional bank financing option.

39www.businesstouchmagazine.com

Key Risks of Crowdfunding

Investors who are not accredited run the danger of experiencing higher loss, as well as liquidity risk and financial loss, when they participate in crowdfunding. The following is a list of the top 10 most common worries about crowdfunding:

1. Liquidity risk

It is possible that you will be unable to quickly sell your investment at a profit if you want to do so. This is the risk that you take. A significant number of the investments that may be made via crowdfunding platforms cannot be readily sold and may remain on the books for a considerable amount of time.

2. Risk of loss

Every single investment carries with it the possibility of suffering a loss. Despite this, investments made via crowdfunding have the potential to be riskier than other forms of investments. This is because the majority of businesses that get investment via crowdfunding are still in their infancy and have not yet established a track record of success in their industry.

3. Potential for fraud

The Securities and Exchange Commission does not have jurisdiction over crowdfunding platforms (SEC). Thus, the likelihood of fraudulent behaviour is increased. Always conduct your research on a crowdfunding campaign before contributing any money to it.

4. The non-accredited investor may lose money

Participation in some types of crowdfunding initiatives is limited to only accredited investors. It is only the wealthy who have the financial means to take part in campaigns like this. Investors who do not have the necessary credentials face the danger of having their whole investment wiped out if the company fails.

5. Minimum investment amounts

There are occasions when a minimum donation is necessary in order to participate in crowdfunding campaigns. It is possible that this may need a financial spend that is beyond your capabilities.

6. Fees and expenses

Crowdfunding services will often charge fees in addition to other associated charges. These expenses have the potential to lower the return on investment that you get overall.

7. Limited information

Investors who participate in crowdfunding often lack fundamental background information about the companies they support. As a consequence of this information gap, it may be difficult to make an investment decision that is well-informed and suitable given the options available.

8. No guarantee of success

The capacity of a corporation to obtain cash is in no way indicative of the company’s future prosperity. Crowdfunding has been used by a number of enterprises that are now experiencing failure.

9. Dividends are not guaranteed

Companies that use crowdsourcing to obtain capital do not always make good on their commitment to pay back investors. This indicates that even if the company is successful, it is possible that you may not get any of your money back.

10. You may not get your money back

If the crowdfunding effort whereby the money was contributed does not succeed, there is a significant possibility that the money would be lost. However, the fact of the matter is that this is the case with every single kind of investment.
