She started her journey working in the media management department of a premium fashion company in Dubai. She went on to say, “I’ve worked with some of the most prestigious brands and stores in the world, such as Dior, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Bvlgari, Jimmy Choo, Bloomingdale’s, Harvey Nichols and many others. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

Apart from the blogging journey, Deepti has also worked with a diverse range of businesses and brands, some of which include Samsung, Amazon India, The Dubai Mall, Emaar, Dubai Tourism (DTCM), Dubai Food Festival, Address Hotels, Spain Tourism, Mauritius Tourism, Zurich Tourism, Tanishq, Al Jaber Opticals, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, and a significant number of other organizations.

SAILING THROUGH THE PANDEMIC

The rise of Covid in 2020 was a dampener for travellers, bloggers and content creators. When people are cramped together within their houses, working hard to make ends meet, caring about their appearance simply cannot be a top priority.

“Over the course of the last two years, I’ve focused on taking care of my body. I finished the Yoga Teacher Training course offered in Rishikesh, India. Nowadays, when I produce content, JWD focuses on people’s health and general well-being,” added Deepti.

When it comes to social media, Deepti considers consistency to be the real king. “Since I began using social media in 2013, I have maintained consistency. I have been open with my followers about my experience, and they appreciate my work. Social media has inspired her to go on regardless of the circumstances and the appreciation coming in makes her tasks more enjoyable.

LUXPRESSO

During the pandemic, Deepti launched her online magazine “Luxpresso”. Deepti visualized presenting a peek into the luxurious life of the Elites that cater to the aspirations of individuals of all different socioeconomic levels.

“During the lockdown, I was looking for ways to spend my time effectively and came up with the concept of working on Luxpresso.

Luxpresso provides a complete directory of the world’s finest high-end services, products, and travel destinations. The magazine covers a wide range of lifestyle issues, from fashion and celebrities to interior design and cars, as well as travel, the arts, and weddings.

“This experience has been fantastic thus far, and I’ve learned a lot. I am incredibly grateful to have this opportunity,” Deepti says.

Deepti continues by saying with the caveat that “Every endeavour has its share of hurdles to overcome,” while outlining the challenges they faced in bringing the magazine Luxpresso to fruition. According to Deepti, the most challenging obstacle to overcome was Luxpresso’s lack of market acceptance due to the saturated nature of the sector. Since the initiative is still in its infancy, it is too soon to declare victory.

On whatever platform she uses, whether it is JiveWithDeepti or Luxpresso, Deepti believes that it is her obligation to offer exciting content for her audience. “I have a lot of faith that people would agree with my interpretation of the business world & acknowledge the amount of work that goes into making both my social media and my magazine effective,” she adds.

“In the modern world, there is no such thing as free lunch. In addition, a great amount of effort must be put in for any endeavour, product, or piece of work to be successful. Therefore, you should prepare to exert a significant amount of work. You may find yourself feeling disheartened and lacking inspiration at a number of different moments along this route; despite this, you must not give up.

According to the travel and trends connoisseur, maintaining as much sagacity, constancy, and relevance as one can is the key to making dreams into reality. People must find out what it is that their audience wants and then develop content that is explicitly geared toward satiating those desires. If you can retain your composure, you will attain your objectives. Furthermore, she recommends having trust in who you are, and the rest will be given by the universe. Sophia Amoruso has been at the forefront of brand-building in the digital age from the time she opened an eBay store called Nasty Gal Vintage, which eventually became the booming fashion retailer Nasty Gal, to the time she wrote the New York Times bestseller #GIRLBOSS and founded the digital media brand and community Girlboss.

Her company’s origin story is well recognized at this point. Sophia Amoruso, who dropped out of community college to become a successful eBay seller of vintage items, previously worked as a Subway sandwich artist and as a shoplifter.

Amoruso, then just 22 years old, capitalised on the nascent e-commerce industry by using her keen sense of style and dogged determination to launch her company, Nasty Gal, in 2006.

Fast forward to when she was leading the online fashion behemoth Nasty Gal, which at its height had over a hundred workers and was generating about $100 million in yearly sales. The New York Times even dubbed her “the Cinderella of IT” for her meteoric rise to fame in the startup scene.

Amoruso launched her eBay boutique Nasty Gal Vintage while still an employee at the Academy of Art University. Her shop specialised on selling pre-owned vintage clothing and accessories. Amoruso’s first sale was a copy of a book she had stolen when she was quite little and then sold on. She handled packaging, labelling, labelling, and shipping all by herself. It was difficult initially because no one believed that a hospital dedicated only to caring for mothers and newborns would be financially successful. However, Cloudnine eventually persuaded private equity investors, and today many hospitals have followed in their footsteps.

• TECHNOLOGY

In 2006 when Cloudnine began, India lacked the sophisticated maternity and newborn care equipment needed, so the group had to acquire numerous tools from other countries at great expense.

• INFRASTRUCTURE

The leaders’ vision to create Cloudnine facilities that do not look, feel and smell like a hospital be converted into reality took a lot of effort & supervision.

COVID 19 PANDEMIC

Even though Covid impacted Cloudnine like everyone else, the group managed to keep morale up via team motivation, rewards, patriotism, and other factors. Briefly:

• Unlike many other hospitals, Cloudnine kept everyone on full pay throughout the epidemic.

• Cloudnine guaranteed and supplied all safety and precautionary measures - such as N95 masks, Gowns, and protective clothing - at the hospital’s expense as needed.

• In the event of illness, Cloudnine treated everyone, regardless of whether or not they had health insurance, at no cost to them. The family would not have to pay anything out of pocket if they were ill.

• Since several Cloudnine workers were ill, the group urged them to come in and reimbursed those who did so for their additional hours.

“I get great satisfaction in working in the events industry, particularly in organising and executing events that far outshine the expectations of my patrons. When my customers are happy, I am motivated to keep improving,” adds Hicham Salim Lyoussi.

Starting his professional journey in the hospitality industry as the IT manager for Abu Dhabi’s City Seasons Hotels. In late 2019, after two years of study, he began working as a full-stack developer to create digital solutions. With the help of a sales engineer, an infographic designer, an editor, a developer, and a digital marketer, Mr Hicham was able to put together a team that worked on several projects.

“After finishing college, I took over management of the ‘Palais Tazi’ communications and events department. I was a very active participant in a wide range of activities (weddings, corporate, galas, Hollywood movie shooting, diplomatic, fundraising, charity, and others) which led me to create Hightech Office.

Since innovation is essential in software engineering and event planning, the founder follows a more democratic form of leadership for the firm, inviting and encouraging everyone to share their thoughts and opinions to find the best solutions and boost morale.

BUSINESS INVOLVEMENT

“Since I like figuring out methods to apply technology to solve problems, I’ve always been interested in working in the IT sector. I attended one of the best colleges in Morocco and earned a computer science degree focusing on business intelligence and data science.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve actively participated in the many and varied activities held in our palace, Palais Tazi. Because of my extensive background in the industry and my enthusiasm for planning parties and other celebrations, I decided to strike out on my own and establish my own business,” says Mr Hicham while Talking about his involvement with the business world and the beginning of his business journey.

His approach to building a name for his business centres on having a solid digital footprint (particularly in social media) and strategic marketing to the target demographic. He firmly believes that the key to successfully expanding the brand is showcasing the appropriate goods to the relevant audience at the proper time.

KEY OPPORTUNITIES

“My French cousin working in commercials during Covid-19 suggested a project we could work on to help alleviate the healthcare crisis. The focus was on a telemedicine app that would enable people to consult with doctors without leaving their homes or standing in huge queues. I worked alone on the project from its inception until its completion and deployment,” says Mr Hicham.

For him, learning about the whole process of creation via this opportunity was quite beneficial. He learnt to handle digital projects (Decomposing a project into tasks, estimating and planning lessons and deadlines, choosing the right tech stack, budgeting, etc). His experience as an IT manager has equipped him with the management skills necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

He has to lead many projects, lacking the workforce to fulfil them. As a result, he settled by expanding and by establishing a formal business and developing his staff.

“My father and I have been engaged in event planning for as long as I can remember, so I naturally picked up a great deal of knowledge and experience along the way. Further, I have amassed a sizable network of event service suppliers with whom I often interact. Until recently, our shows were in our own Palais Tazi event centre,” Adds Mr Hicham.

ACHIEVING GREATNESS

Mr Hichamhas created four mobile applications (A telemedicine app, an e-commerce app for grocery delivery, an ERP system and a wedding planner app). In addition, he has built websites for a wide range of businesses (pharmaceutical, real estate, renewable energy, commerce, education and others). He has been helping his customers by creating practical solutions and expanding his development team since day one, making him feel like achieving greatness.

ROADBLOCKS IN THE JOURNEY

As impressive as modern computing has become, the technical aspect of software development has never stopped throwing curveballs at developers in the form of rare and sophisticated defects. It took time and effort, but Mr Hicham and his team eventually got beyond those obstacles.

“Customers who are too picky and demanding were a constant source of frustration for me in both the IT and event planning industries. All the same, I am much better off now because I faced those obstacles and pushed myself to the edge of my abilities,” adds Mr Hicham.

“My whole event schedule fell apart because of COVID. It was strictly banned for event spaces to hold any events at all. On the other hand, I invested in expanding my internet following and boosting my profile. In this way, I was able to quickly get new clients after the conclusion of the COVID pandemic,” says Mr Hicham.

In terms of information technology, the team quickly adjusted by working remotely, which proved to be a more effective and efficient method of operation. Furthermore, Innovation served as a basis for the growth of Hitech Office. It takes a lot of ingenuity and originality for professionals working in IT and events to set themselves out of the pack. Aworld without the Internet is hard to fathom. It’s become a need in today’s society.
