The Importance Of School Culture
As mentioned by Peterson, K. D., & Deal, T. E. (2009) when it comes to school culture there are many hidden or not visible aspects that need to be considered. For example, we need to take in consideration things that will promote or affect commitment, productivity as well as motivation. As Peterson, K. D., & Deal, T. E. (1999) mentioned, "School culture inп¬ ‚uences what people pay attention to (focus), how they identify with the school (commitment), how hard they work (motivation), and the degree to which they achieve their goals (productivity)..." For instance something things that we take for granted such as: manners, way we celebrate others, vision & mission, ways we even greet others and even the tone of voice we use might set the wrong culture. Even though, we are all trying to catch up, we need to take our time to consider what is important and or might affect our school community. Simple things such as greeting others, parents, students and staff member need to be our number one priority, having time to listen to their problems, concerns as well as their ideas will also help us create a positive culture. We need to listen to those unsaid words, hidden messages, we need to focus on what it is important, setting up the best learning/teaching/working opportunities for all community members. As school leaders we need to understand, that our voice tone, facial gestures, comments as well as preoccupation for getting better professional development opportunities, parental involment even the way we motivate others will become the mirror image we see in others. Our school is doing many things to foster our vision and mission which is "All students are getting the best learning opportunities..." As part of this, the school is running before and after school extended learning programs in which some students, those whose reading performance is under grade level, will be invited and motivate to assist. Teachers are having conversations with parents to help them understand the importance of this initiative. Posters, flyers as well as information had been sent home.
Another way that our school is trying to promote our vision and mission is through the Literacy Family Night program that is starting on Dec 7, 2017. This Get more content

At this point, the students are very innocent and just accept all the knowledge that has been given by the teachers. They did not think critically and just on the surface of the chapter. This organization is very crucial so that the students will not be shocked to learn and they can understand easily. Elementary school–age kids benefit from regularly hearing about persistence. So, teach them different ways to talk about problem solving such as, "I won't quit," and "I can do it," and "It is always the hardest at the first, but it will get easier." Borba also suggest that we need to maintain the families overall attitude by always support each other. That will not just build a positive thinking in the student's mind but also tighten the bond of family relationship. Finally, we can tell the stories either from our own life or we can ask the school librarian to recommend books about the characters who manage to succeed despite the obstacles. The second level is middle school. The middle school is defines as the period in student's life that take place after elementary school and before high school. A Day in School Life
The day begins with a high–pitched yell, "moooooooorninnnnng" from my mother. I wake up tired with a headache as I think I have a cold. I rush to leave the house, my father complains about the lack of urgency in my movement by shouting out the time every five minutes.
There is not enough time to drink my tea; the tea burns my tongue as I gulp it down my throat, leaving a nasty taste. I ran as fast as I can towards my bus stop. Upon arriving I realize that despite the hectic hurry of mornings I am actually early. "I really should tell my parents what time the bus comes so my mornings can be more relaxed," I tell myself.

The official day starts with a tutor period. My mood is lifted as I make quite a few people laugh.
The first lesson is French. The teacher is absent so I am free to take part in a conversation with my friend concerning the weekend. The teacher next door keeps telling us to keep quiet. For some reason the rest of my fellow students feel the need to shout and keep getting louder after each complaint.
The second period begins. The teacher ignores my enquiries as to whether we will be using the "metro " book this lesson then yells at me for not having written the title in my book, even though she hasn't started the lesson or even written the title on the board. When I point this out to the teacher another student already distracts her. After twenty minutes, the tiredness sets in and hinders my work effort. The headache from that morning begins to throb and my eyes are itchy and bloodshot.

Students are given the opportunity to learn efficiently from educators that are diligently dedicated and knowledgeable of their profession. Incorporating programs that reflects one's mission will ensure learning that is flourishing. 21st Century for example, is an educational organization that provides the required assets for educational opportunities to thrive. 21st Century defines its program through the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (2007) that advocates readiness for students by providing tools and resources that will readily prepare students to advance in the digital world. This gives the educator the opportunity to include various techniques of learning critical to global awareness. Visions statements guide one to a successful future. A vision is considerably created after a mission statement to determine future goals that are to be achieved. Vision statements complements mission statements, but transcends them as visions describes the future (Abelman, 2009). This takes into account the direction in which one wishes to pursue. Educators create a vision to determine expectations of students and the concepts that teachers want students to render. 21st Century also establishes ways for educators and students to diligently progress in the areas of skillful learning along with information and technology literacy. A new school, A new beginning. No acquaintances, No friends, having to restart my life. While suffering with anxiety of what may lie ahead. Enduring fear of being rejected.
As a 9–year old girl, I still had a mindset that still needed friends who could influence me positively. I found it difficult for me to make any new friends or truly be myself around anyone. The need for belonging served as my only objective. Class after class, they all turned into disappointments. Losing hope, I first stepped into his class, realizing everything would change.
As I approached the classroom door, A tall figure with short dark brown hair and eyes as blue as an ocean greeted me. He also had a thin figure with great posture. With a charming smile, laid–back presence like a carefree surfer. He always had a welcoming smile, no matter who approached him or entered his classroom. Whenever he wears suits, he would match a distinctive tie, more unique each time. Showing that he never wanted to be average. Looking at his appearance and his affectionate demeanor, something told me maybe he could be the answers that I needed. Descriptive Essay About A New School
School Rules
School rules and regulations are made not to be broken. Rules are made for the safety and better welfare of the students in school. Another is to promote good behavior among students and to maintain the good image of the school. Parents send their children to school in order for them to learn not only academic values, but also moral values. Implementing school rules will help the students mold their character and values expected from them by other people.
There are certain factors why nowadays, students tend not to follow rules disseminated by the school despite of the punishments they will have to face for doing such actions. Students coming from broken families often times become selfish in a way that he/she is just thinking of his/her own happiness and satisfaction.
The family is the very source of love, support and guidance for each individual. It is where the good character of a person is uprooted. Without the support and love coming from every member of the family, the person, particularly the students becomes delinquent or simply lost in their moral values. A student without moral values knows no straight path. He always go on the wrong side of the track just to be noticed.
Media also plays an important role in growing individuals. Most of the students nowadays are exposed to so much in media particularly on local television. Because at a very young age, they are easily being influenced by what they see and what they hear, especially from those whom they idolize and frequently see on screen. Sometimes, through media, they witness negative things that they initiate because it was presented or shown beautifully regardless of being right, or against the rules.
We cannot deny the fact that even though the parents raised their children in ways which they consider as "right," there are still some who lose their direction. It is true that nobody is perfect. So who

School Administration & Supervision
Introduction to School Administration and Supervision Principals play a vital role in setting the direction for successful schools but productive leadership depends heavily on its fit with the social and organizational context in which it is exercised. They (the principals) are the primary catalysts for creating a lasting foundation for learning, for driving school and student performance, and for shaping the long term impact of schools' improvement efforts. The principal is the focus keeper, consistently pointing to improved student learning as the central goal of the school. The principal sets the climate of high expectations for student achievement and sees that teams function effectively. You need to ensure that you are trusted among your staff as well as parents and members in the community. Without this trust you will be unable to implement and iota of change within your school climate. When parents and teachers trust you, they believe that what you are saying and are encouraged to endeavour in what changes that may be ahead of them. They see the honesty as a bonding partnership, thereby allowing them to be more comfortable with you as the Principal in all your undertakings. With honesty there is always some form of consideration that you as a Principal will tend to give towards your staff members. Consideration is a trait that refers to "people orientation" or a concern for people, especially a concern for each person. Considerate principals, for example, express interest in their teachers' lives. When teachers see that you as a Principal are not only concerned about covering the school syllabus or ensuring that paperwork is up–to date, they will begin to trust you even more. They will see that human aspect of you begin to play in their lives, therefore when you begin to ask for change it will be met with the minutest opposition. It will come as

My school of the future will offer many classes and classrooms for high schoolers. There will be a separate wing for each subject (math, science, social studies, etc.), as organizing a school like that makes for easier navigation and access to classrooms. I drew my school with all of the classrooms on outside walls for one reason: windows! I really love when classrooms have windows because it is something different to look at and in addition they are important for schools to have as the natural light is a drastic difference from the drab, beige–white walls of a school . If windows were not an option in my school, I would not hesitate to substitute skylights in for them. Moreover, to ensure that the students attending my school have the best education, I will have a large library. I personally love the library for two reasons: one because reading is a hobby of mine, and two because it is a quiet place to read, study, or just hang out. Furthermore, two out of the four science classroom will have a lab area to conduct experiments in. There will also be a kitchen in the Family and Consumer Sciences wing to make authentic foods in. A few extra qualities my school will offer that not all schools do are airconditioning and heating, a pool, both an indoor and an outdoor track, a greenhouse, a domed lunchroom/courtyard with glass ceiling, as well as art and music programs, as well as transgender bathrooms. Personally, "The Sanctuary of School" offers the strongest conflict. Namely, the conflict of Man v. Society, because troubled children like Lynda Barry contend with those who think before and after school programs are unimportant. What appealed to me the most was how the author stresses the importance of art and music programs at school. These programs are sometimes the only way troubled children escape from the emotional turmoil of their home life. It outrages me that such creative programs are cut back when times are tough. While I do think the three R's are important, a student's mentality and overall well–being is essential to the learning process. I also liked how Barry used description in her narrative. The education system has been a controversial issue among educators. Requirements of school do not let student choose what they want to study for their future. It's a big issue to force student study specific curriculums, which don't help them improve, and what they like to create something. Educators choose a general system for education to all students which based on general knowledge. Intelligent or genius students have to be in that system of education, which doesn't let them improve their creativity. Gatto is concern to society that the contemporary schooling system is trying to get rid of students' personality by turning them into obedient students that are easy to have power over (control). Therefore, the system will produce uneducated voters that are easy to be misled by higher powers. In addition, students are not given the freedom of choosing what they want. He is saying that public schools are not the only way to success; also, unschooled people don't mean that they are uneducated. Moreover, Gatto encourages home–school system than public school as option because home–school system has more independence but it's not a solution for the US. I disagree to his solution because he is supporting examples from old generation such as Edison and Ben Franklin; however, our generation is different than before. It needs school environment like sharing our ideas in class and helping each other to solve problems. Therefore, homeschool is not the solution to success. It is a combination of the students' skills, intelligence, and effort that makes up their success.
Graff says that putting students in classes in the contemporary system is wasting and limiting students' potential and creativity (198). Complaining that intellects do not meet the success standard set by schools, Graff proves that schools limit the intellect students can achieve in their academic career (198–199).

Does School start too early?
Many students can admit that they have fallen asleep at least once during a class. It is not the student's fault as to why they fall asleep in class, it is the early school start times that causes students to fall asleep on their desks during class. Recent studies have shown that more than half of students get less than eight hours of sleep which is the recommended amount of sleep. School start times contribute to sleep deprivation, car crashes, and lower test results and overall grades. Studies have shown that many students blame their sleep deprivation on the early school start times, they are not wrong. Students are supposed to receive at least 8 hours of sleep each night; however, most teens only average around seven or less hours of sleep as seen in the graph below from (wake up calls)....show more content...
School start times have a great effect on student sleep deprivation because the early times throw off the student's circadian clock also known as the internal body rhythm. The circadian clock secretes a hormone called melatonin that helps teens sleep (Ornes). Melatonin is active until approximately 8:30am where as many school start earlier than that at around 7:15am.
School start times not only impact a student's sleep cycle, but they also impact the number of early morning car accidents. Students who are sleep deprived that drive to school face a huge risk of getting into a car crash that early in the morning. Studies show that "when high schools in Fayette County, Kentucky, changed their start times from 7:30a.m. to 8:30a.m., teen car crash rates dropped by more than sixteen percent." (Discovery). Moving start times back in other counties and states will decrease the numbers of teen car Get

This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a mindset to improve, total transformation will occur. As we review and synthesize data of a district for planning school improvement, the following information is needed to access and determine the needs of a school. First, a thorough analysis of performance data must be reviewed to see how school districts measure up with state and federal accountability. During this process, it is very important that schools focus the performance indicators that will guarantee growth and success. School teams must refer to the districts mission and vision to guide the planning process. The performance indicators will provide data that will be beneficial in creating improvement strategies. So, after careful evaluation of the data, the next step would be to plan effective methods and strategies that will improve student achievement. Moreover, this plan should include needs, demographics and opportunities for students to be successful. Additionally, the baseline data is important information to include in the improvement plan. Data is always the best resource for trying to improve student achievement. The data will help guide continuous improvement of a plan. There are four types of data that will be beneficial to any team during the planning phase of the school improvement process. Demographics data, achievement data, perception

While school districts and schools struggle to survive amid the ongoing and strenuous standards for success, provisions must still be made to ensure that these entities are financially sound (Hall, 2006). The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the ramifications of school finance litigation and practice in the state of Florida. To comply with these legal challenges, the Florida legislature replaced the MFP (Minimum Foundation Program) with the FEFP (FloridaEducation Finance Program). The FEFP would be used to fund districts based on the number of full–time students were in the district. In addition the FEFP allocated funds so that poorer districts would be able to receive more funds per student (Herrington & Weider, 2001, p. 521). In 1979, FEFP was challenged by the Gindl Department of Education, Escambia, Florida. The school district challenged the discretionary millage provision which may lead to funding shortfalls in property poor districts and funding increases in property rich districts. Additionally, in 1993, Kay Glasser and others sued Florida's Department of Education over the discretionary millage provision. Glasser contended that the millage limit as set by FEFP for school purposes was unconstitutional, however, the Florida courts upheld FEFP but declined to establish a clear uniform system for public schools (Herrington & Weider, 2001). Odden and Piccus (2008) posited that regardless of the push for adequacy in education, the need for equity is still crucial to any school's financial plan. Hence, such cases further suggest that the equity predicament across states and school districts is not one that will be easily solved (Brimley & Garfield, 2008).

The Culture Of A School Essay
The culture of a school has a tremendous impact on the level of excellence within the academic institution. Like a dog who takes on the personality of its owner, staff and students respond to their environment. A school culture develops as a result of the combination of several factors. Interpersonal relations among students, staff, parents, and administration help foster a welcoming or bland atmosphere. Schools can range from a toxic environment in which there is little trust and creativity to a collaborative culture based on interdependence and openness. While very few schools reside on either end of that continuum, most display multiple cultural typologies. The remainder of this discussion will analyze the school culture of James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia. James Monroe is a very diverse and unique school. The demographics of the city are distinctive in that there are very few middle class neighborhoods that feed the school system. The student body consists of approximately 30% relative affluence and approximately 40% poverty. The middle class is the smallest section of the student population. Thus, there is really no majority. The other unique feature about the school system is that there is only one school at each level. The district consists of one elementary, one upper elementary, one middle, and one high school. In other words, the classmates that enter kindergarten together should be the same exact class walking across the stage

Secondly, vandalism is a contextual factor that affects my school. Our school is vandalized every week by someone and sometimes it seems to happen twice a week. It is difficult to catch the vandals because it takes place at different times during the day and at different bathrooms or areas without security cameras. Although it is the expectation of our school not to vandalize school property, vandalism still happens. It is the administration and teachers' job to attempt to keep the problem from re–occurring. A possible solution to solve the problem of vandalizing could be a service learning project (Stenhouse & Jarrett, 2012). A possible reason of prevalent vandalism may be the students' bored feelings and that his/her potential is not being challenged in the classroom.
