The Cultural explosion of Manchester and the North

Buy Art Fair, where culture and consumers collide

Manchester has always sat at the centre of the Northern powerhouse, with a farreaching catchment offering the largest concentration of affluent consumers and business HQs outside London. Long recognised for industry, sport and music the city has recently seen an explosion of interest in arts and culture, with new buildings such as the Whitworth Gallery and HOME leading the New York Times to name Manchester as the UK’s must visit cultural destination in its list of the globe’s best cities.

At the centre of Manchester’s cultural renaissance is Buy Art Fair, the largest and most prestigious art fair in the North of England. Since its launch 8 years ago it has attracted more than 35,000 visitors who have spent over £2.5 million pounds on contemporary art. With Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Liverpool, Leeds and York all within a 1-2 hour drive time Buy Art Fair continues to attract a stylish, affluent and cultured audience ranging from urban hipsters buying original art for the first time to established collectors looking for the next big thing or investment piece.
