Using bold curatorial judgement, it offers works for sale from the most exciting, critically engaged, contemporary artists and galleries, many of whom then embark on the international art fair network.

Consistent with each edition, this year’s fair will continue to provide an opportunity to view and purchase inspiring work from an exciting range of artists from the emerging to the more established and of regional, national and international repute. Staying true to our commitment for The Manchester Contemporary to reflect the very best of what’s happening within contemporary visual art throughout the UK, we are looking forward to introducing you to exhibitors from London, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Salford, Preston, Liverpool, Cardiff, Nottingham and Worcester.

Gallery Profile OutsiderXchanges is a collaborative project exploring inter-responsive visual arts practice. The project brought together 6 learning disabled artists and 6 emerging artists, to examine disability arts aesthetic and investigate its place within the contemporary visual arts world. This is a Venture Arts project working in partnership with Castlefield Gallery, CVAN and Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts.

Gallery Profile For The Manchester Contemporary 2016, PAPER will present the work of three abstract painters, Mali Morris, Lisa Denyer, and Linda Hemmersbach. PAPER is an artist-led, commercial gallery based in Manchester and represents a range of emerging and mid-career artists whose practice is based around the medium of paper.

Gallery Profile Located in the railway station of central Middlesbrough, Platform A represents emerging and established artists. Platform A is committed to working creatively, exploring new approaches to arrive at the best outcomes to provide the highest calibre exhibition programme.

Gallery Profile Founded in Nottingham in 2013, Syson Gallery is an independent gallery in a former Lacemarket building opposite Nottingham Contemporary. Having grown from a project orientated focus, the gallery now represents artists and curates an ambitious exhibitions programme, presents critically engaged talks and commissions site specific works in the public realm.

Gallery Profile Transition Gallery is an artistrun gallery formed in 2002 in East London. The gallery shows work by both emerging and established contemporary artists as well as producing publications. For The Manchester Contemporary, Transition is presenting WHAM, a forceful collision of works on paper that resound with pop aesthetic.
