What a great time to be in the cattle business! The last year has brought many challenges and blessings our way. Starting back in March 2022, our sale was a big success with cattle going to 7 states. Calving and breeding season went very smooth, then mother nature decided to turn off the rain. The herd maintained well in pasture and the calves performed nicely, yet we were forced to wean and drylot in August until cornstalks opened up. One of the biggest highlights of the year was Cody and Katie’s wedding in August. In January we headed west to Denver for the NWSS. This trip was the first time we were invited to be in the National Sale. We are excited to report the pick of our pen was sold to Broadlawn farms in Mississippi. As always, we had a great time reconnecting with fellow Hereford breeders from across the country while we were in Denver. We returned home to more snow, a combined total of 40 inches (and counting) so far. The moisture is much needed, however the snow has made preparing for the sale challenging.
This year, we will again have a selection of Valley Creek Ranch bulls and heifers on our sale. It has been a blessing working with the McGee Family and incorporating their genetics into our operation. This partnership has established a wonderful opportunity for our customers to have a diverse offering in one sale.
February 18th we will be hosting an open house at our calving facility east of Clearwater, NE on HWY 275. We will be serving certified Hereford prime rib for lunch with plenty of refreshments. This is a great opportunity to see every hoof of the Kester Herefords program. Spring cows, fall pairs, herd bulls, and sale cattle will all be on display.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder and becomes the responsibility of the purchaser as soon as sold. The auctioneer will settle any disputes from the auction block. The cattle sell under the terms and conditions as recommended by the American Hereford Association.

Online bidding will take place at DVAuction.com. Please register ahead of the sale start time.
GUARANTEE
Bulls selling for more than $3,000 are guaranteed from the first turnout against breeding injury. Claims must be made before Sept 1, 2023 and vet checked. Breeding season ends 90 days after first turnout of bull. Credit will be the purchase price less salvage value. Credit can be applied to a replacement bull (if available) or on next year’s sale. Buyer will keep all salvage value of bull. Please notify us as soon as possible of any injury. This is not mortality insurance, nor does it cover death of the animal.
DELIVERY
Free delivery on bulls within 200 miles of Clearwater, NE. Delivery will begin one week after the sale. Please contact us for delivery arrangements.
