Notes About Our Trips

Transportation is provided in our new deluxe 36 passenger mini-bus, equipped with a wheelchair lift and can accommodate 2 wheelchair passengers. Please indicate at registration if you require a wheelchair spot on the bus or have any special needs. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis, when accompanied with payment. If a trip is full, we strongly encourage you to put your name on the waitlist. Many times there are cancellations, additional tickets may be acquired, or an additional date may be scheduled. If the deadline has passed, please call to check for availability. We encourage participants to bring their own reusable water bottle in an effort to support our environment.

Dancing Horses

The holiday show at the Dancing Horses in Wisconsin is the most festive and popular of all of their horse shows. This show will start with a late lunch of turkey stuffed chicken breast or pork roast and side salad with dinner roll. Milwaukee Fish Fry Tour

In Milwaukee, there is just nothing quite like a Friday night fish fry – it’s a classic! Join us as we indulge in Wisconsin’s ultimate comfort food, narrated with a little history and trivia along the way. Tour an area Catholic church with us this Lenten season, stop at 3 of the city’s fish fry hot spots, and conclude the tour with dessert! Don Quixote at the Lyric Opera House

The family-friendly ballet full of bravery, fantasy, and love. Yuri Possokhov’s fresh interpretation of this revered ballet classic centers on Don Quixote, an aging and eccentric nobleman, who imagines himself to be a valiant knight. Axe Throwing

Nothing beats the fun and adrenaline rush you get when you hurl an axe! The trained staff of Axeperts at Splinters in St. Charles will teach you the safe techniques of the exciting sport of axe throwing. We will be holding a tournament among all of our participants. Sir Andrew Davis Conducts Beethoven’s 9th

Lyric will celebrate Sir Andrew Davis’s magnificent two-decade tenure as music director with one of his favorite works, never previously performed at Lyric: Beethoven’s enthralling, life-enhancing Symphony No. 9, the “Choral,” music’s most exalted hymn to the human spirit. Sir Andrew will conduct a superb vocal quartet with the wonderful Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus. The concert will begin with a new choral work by Sir Andrew’s son, Ed Frazier Davis, an impressively gifted composer. Register by 03/18. Min 15 | Max 32. (TG)

Chicago Food Tour Polonia

You don’t have to travel overseas to visit the Old Country. Chicago boasts a thriving Polish community and we will celebrate all things Polish. Our day will begin with a tour of St. Hyacinth Basilica, the heart of Chicago’s Polish Village. Next, we’ll visit The Polish Museum of America for a docent-led tour. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a sit-down lunch at Staropolska’s, the top Polish restaurant in Chicago, and have some time to shop along Milwaukee Avenue. Polish meal is served family style complete with cucumber salad, pierogi, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, Polish sausage, and red cabbage. We’ll end our day with shopping at Kolatek’s Bakery so that we may bring home some tasty treats. Queen Bee Quilting for Charity

Join the Queen Bee Quilters as we make lap quilts to donate to local hospitals and charities. We meet from 10am-noon on the first and third Wednesdays of the month on the 2nd floor in the Cedar Room. Red Hat Divas

The Red Hat Society is a global group of women that support and encourage women in their pursuit of fun, friendship, freedom, fulfilment and fitness. Women over age 50 are known as “Red Hatters,” while those under 50 are referred to as “Pink Hatters”. The Bensenville chapter is called the “Red Hat Divas”. Hand & Foot / Samba is a card game for 4 to 6 players per table. The object of the game is to get rid of cards from your hand pile and then from your foot pile. It is important to arrive on time as partners and tables are determined at the beginning. (TG)

This is a very friendly group and will help beginners get up to speed to play the game. Canasta can be played with 2, 3, 5, or 6 players. This group meets only on the first Thursday of the month. (TG)

Bunco

Players roll the dice to accumulate points by rolling certain combinations. Prizes are awarded for most buncos, most wins, highest score, and lowest score. No previous experience necessary. (TG)

This is a fun drop-in bingo event that starts out with cake and refreshments for everyone and a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" for anyone celebrating a birthday that month.
