At fourteen Sydney Alese started playing the guitar and writing full songs, becoming heavily influenced by artists like ‘NeverShoutNever’, ‘Owl City’, ‘The Ready Set’ and ‘Panic! At the Disco’. After graduating from high school, she went on to record her debut album “Time”, a record that combines her relatable experiences during her teen years with pop beats and acoustic melodies. uitar virtuoso, singer, songwriter, multiinstrumentalist and producer Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal released his 10th CD entitled “Little Brother Is Watching” on February 24th. The album is an eccentric, upbeat collection of modern epic rock with haunting melodies, huge choruses and witty lyrics about life in the digital age and beyond. Specifically, his own life and coming to terms with what we all face - beginnings, endings, and moving on. The album was composed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Bumblefoot at his studio in New Jersey, and also features drummer Dennis Leeflang and a crowd of 100 fans stomping, chanting and singing backing vocals recorded at a listening party in New York. Bumblefoot has over 20 years of releasing music, performing at international festivals, headlining solo tours, won many album of the month/year awards and has appeared on the covers of numerous music magazines as a solo artist. As lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, Bumblefoot toured sold-out shows all over the world, headlining festivals with crowds up to 150,000 people. Bumblefoot’s unique ‘fretless guitar’ can be heard throughout GNR’s 2008 Chinese Democracy album. Bumblefoot has current collaborations that include DMC from the iconic rap group Run DMC, and Scott Weiland in the supergroup Art Of Anarchy. His music is often heard in TV, film and videogames including the theme song to VH1’s “That Metal Show”. Bumblefoot also works with U.S. Embassies around the world on cross-cultural music programs, has his own line of award-winning hot sauces, and works with dozens of international charities visiting orphanages and children’s hospitals with guitar in hand.

“HE” VS “SHE” ‘MONES, WHAT’S THE ‘DIFF? Women’s natural remedy When it comes to headlines in medicine there is nothing more provocative than hormones. Defined as chemicals produced by certain cells in our body, secreted into the blood stream to be taken up by distant receptors that then result into definitive actions. A good example of this are the thyroid hormones. Lost in the fog of reality however, are myths, marketing techniques, and just pure misinformation.
2.
Here we have a very confusing dilemma for women along with marketing schemes to sell them “Bio Identical” Hormones.
Let’s
talk about the latter first. According to the University of California at Berkeley, they are

Because they depend on compounding pharmacies, more mistakes in doses can be made and just recently there have been several deaths because of them. Natural and Bio-identical are nothing more than sales gimmicks so don’t be duped or dummied into them! They market them as better because they are natural but there is no proof and just

Hormones and Cancer
4.
There are reams of studies linking hormones to cancer. For women, estrogen and breast cancer and for men, testosterone and prostatic cancer. This is very complicated but as of today the link with women and estrogen is real but for men, the
link with testosterone and prostate cancer has been seriously disputed. As a matter of fact, low testosterone levels have been linked to it. For those too young to know or too old to care Coal Chamber were responsible for the floor filling ankle kicker ‘Loco’, one of only a handful of tracks to come out of that whole numetal madness with any credibility to its time stamp. Well with a hiatus long enough for a brand new generation to discover the call of the Coal RIVALS is an album that has to not just grab those tender, fresh ears but also appease fans in their thirties who can remember wondering if the ice-cream truck driver in the Loco video was Marilyn Manson - he wasn’t, but we were young and dumb back then. Album opener “I.O.U. Nothing” dispels any initial concerns regarding quality of the Coal, a thundering blast ripped right out of the bands past and hammered to a gladiator physique of a track by the present Chamber players. Drop tuned guitars battering out a salvo of sound to front man Dez’s guttural expulsions sends hairs on the knuckles skywards, the adrenalin rush of controlled anarchy a welcome sensation after thirteen long years abeyance. With hopes joining knuckle hairs at the prospect of more to come “Bad Blood Between Us” harkens some Who as the intro kicks in, a soupcon of synth creating a build to a crescendo of crashing groove and guttural growls. With boots set to swagger and shoulders set squared BBBU is a soundtrack for the mosh pit, that special time halfway between thinking it’s 16 • BWD Magazine • www.bwdmagazine.com
a good idea to jump into the ‘pit and the long search for your teeth afterwards. “Light In The Shadows”, however, feels more like a band trying to imitate themselves, a little ‘too’ nu-metal Chamber for the tastes of the aural gland. Not helped by having an unfathomable vocal effect slathering the lyrics it’s not going to be the track you’d sell the album to your friends on, for sure. “Suffer In Silence” is an oxymoron in itself, and a glad return to the albums earlier onslaught, but subsequent track “The Bridges Your Burn” tries just too hard and leaves you wishing a modicum of restraint had been shown and allowed the glorious song beneath to shine through. But hey ho and onward we go. “Orion” is what you would classify as the ‘heart tugger’ of any other bands album, here more a ‘heart attack’ with its foreboding brood of portentous intent; deliberate and drawn, Orion isn’t a track to turn on when feeling a bit less than chipper with the world, a General Surgeons Health warning attributing such bizarrely missing from the notes on the album sleeve. “Another Nail In The Coffin” is the ‘Loco’ you all came here for, a pastiche of perfection in self-plagiarism practically, the two tracks played sequentially defying anyone to notice the thirteen years between recordings. Title track Rivals is another brooding beast of the ear-buds burden, the bass rattling your fillings and snapping your head back and forth in solo-mosh genuflection.
“Dumpster Dive” can be skipped without losing any sleep, the sound-only track a one minute and nine second wonder into whether this actually counts as a track on the album or a bonus track mistakenly included in the listing. “Over My Head” remedies that faux par nicely with a lip pouting, head banging, teeth kicker of track; riffs you can follow and lyrics you can destroy your voice to, the cymbals constant time keeping in the background surging you through the single to a march none can defy - and when enjoyed with following track “Fade Away (Karma Never Forgets)” you’ve got the first two tracks in your own Soundtrack To Start Some Shit To.

monthly inspiration BE INSPIRED!! “I feel like giving it all up, there are too many issues, people don’t get me, I don’t seem to be making any progress, people who I love and expect to be there for me, are not, they’ve turned their backs on me, they’ve stopped their support of me. Nobody seems to understand me. I am tired. Why me? Nothing good ever happens to me.” How many of us have felt this way or are feeling this way right now? How many of us want to throw in the towel and end it all? Well I am here to tell you today that I have been there but when I look at where I was and where I am today, I know that I
have made some progress. I am not where I want to be yet but at least I am not where I used to be. Like David in the Bible, you need to encourage yourself. Don’t give up on yourself! NO! You can’t give up now! You’ve come too far! Seriously, are you in the same position where you used to be? You’ve at least made some progress! Don’t give up now! Don’t stop believing! Don’t stop trying! Don’t stop loving! Don’t stop praying! Don’t stop giving! Don’t get tired! Don’t stop helping! You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you do not give up. Believe me! Yes many troubles may surround you but the Lord will always make a way for you!

paul lamar hunter The Book
No Love, No Charity: the Success of the 19th child is the riveting debut book by Paul Lamar Hunter. Though many would consider Paul to be an unlikely candidate to become successful, this thrilling autobiographical account describes how he made it, despite overwhelming odds. As the 19th child of twenty-one, his troubled life traversed the perils of poverty, neglect, dysfunction, and even deaths. Paul describes what it was like growing up in the shadows of a famous yet detached mother whose affections were focused on the homeless shelter that she founded. Though the shelter was supposed to be a haven for the downtrodden, it was actually the breeding ground for dysfunction and despondency. Despite Paul’s misfortunes and failures, his determined spirit and his unshakeable faith lifted him above the fray to become the first in his family to graduate from college. Now moving full-speed ahead, Paul Lamar Hunter is living proof that neither limits nor lineage determine the quality of one’s life—but faith, fortitude, and determination do.
No Love, No Charity: The Success of the 19th Child
Reviews “This book is a dark revelation about how traumatic growing up can be. Paul’s story reiterates the fact that those of us who have loving parents are truly blessed. As I read this book, I can relate to Paul’s pain as my mother also placed herself first—ahead of myself and my siblings. I came to this realization as my wife demonstrated unselfish, self-sacrificing love towards our two children. I also recall that growing up as a child, one of the most painful things for me to witness was the wonderful relationship that my friends had with their mothers. Though I was happy for my friends, it still reminded me of what I was missing—a relationship with my mother. That was something I could have only wished for. How can one give something that they have never had, especially when that something is love? That’s why I am so grateful for my wife and children. Despite it all, Paul’s story will encourage anyone that he or she can make it despite all the odds. Certainly, it can be done. It should be done. It must be done.” Kevin Weslaski “A truly compelling and very interesting book. It holds your attention from beginning to end. A must read!”
